Again, it’s been a while. You know, I was looking at my profile earlier and I suppose I really should revamp it sometime. Then again, I’m not sure I’m here enough anymore to really necessitate it.

I’m not sure there’s a whole lot to update. I’m still at the same job. Things have improved (not that they were terrible before), as a few months ago the Assistant Manager in our department became the head of the department. She’s a good boss and I’ve always liked her, so I was happy about that and I think things have been better since then. I’d still like to get out of the hotel industry, but I continue to have little luck there.

I’m still playing darts. Our league started up again a couple of months ago, and for whatever reason, I’m enjoying it more now than in forever.

I decided to close the website I ran for a couple of years last month. I enjoyed it for a while and did some cool stuff, but I guess I just lost my passion for it, as it seemed to be treading water. I have a few things on deck, however, that I’m hopeful about.

My sister got back together with her boyfriend a little while back after being broken up with him for a few months or so. During that time, they remained friends, but it was obvious to me that he always held on to the hope that they would get back together. My sister seemed happy just being friends and I was somewhat surprised that she became involved with him again. Truth be told, I really don’t see what was different from the time she broke up with him as compared to when she decided to get back together.

Now, he’s moving in again, which was a huge problem when they broke up before. See, he was living with my sister at her father’s house, and gave her a hard time during the breakup. So, my sister had to put up with him while he found a place to live. As I said, they remained friends, and now they’re back together. My sister’s track record with boyfriends isn’t exactly terrific and I certainly hope she’s not making another mistake.

Not to mention the fact that when it comes to my sister’s boyfriend, he’s not what I would call a great catch. He’s had trouble holding on to jobs, and I’m just not sure what kind of future he has to offer my sister and niece (her daughter). I think my sister genuinely cares for him and likes having him and his friends in her life (which could be at least partially why she got back together with him), but looking down the road, it’s questionable to me. Her father has expressed concerns as well, but I guess at the end of the day she’s just going to do what she wants. I suppose all I can do is hope for the best.

To be honest, visiting my sister and niece these days isn’t often what it used to be. Much of the time, her boyfriend’s friends are around and I just don’t have much to say to them. It’s not that they’re bad people, we just don’t have much in common. But she seems to enjoy being around them, so I guess that’s what’s most important.

Wow … I guess I had more of a rant about that than I thought!
