Wow, I didn’t realize it had been almost a year since my last journal entry. My, how time flies when … nothing is really happening. Not much of anything, anyway. I just kind of felt like writing an entry.



As you can see by the date, it’s the holiday season. I’ve really grown to hate this time of year. It’s not like I get any special time off of work (in fact, work is generally a pain in the ass during the holidays) and I certainly don’t have a plethora of loved ones to share it with. I’m sure the holidays are wonderful if you do have these things, but for people like me … blah. But I guess that’s just it - this time of year ISN’T for people like me. I’ll just be happy when it’s done and over with. Unfortunately, however, that is still two weeks away.



As you can probably tell, I’m still at the same workplace. I did put in a couple of resumes over the past few months at places I am hopeful about, but that hope fleets the more time that passes (I never did hear from the retirement home I alluded to in my last entry).



I’ve looked at a few courses at a transitions college here in town in the hopes of continuing my education in order to get a better job. Unfortunately, the one I am most interested in costs $6400 (including books). Sure, I could afford to pay it, but it would take the vast majority of my savings and that is far too big a risk. I’d really like to figure something out, but we’ll see.



*Sighs* Well, work beckons soon, so I suppose I should be off …
