I find Michelle Belanger's articles interesting but I don't always agree with all of them nor with people in this forum. Some I suspect to be something other than what they state.

It is easy to rationalize what someone thinks and what their motivations are in regard to who or what they say they are. There are those that do this alot that are accepted as nothing more than fringe. Many times we humor people like that on forums, not necessarily this one. Some have chosen to get medical testing and others not. Some don't need a piece of paper vindicating what they believe themselves to be. What I am saying is no matter what testing you might get, it is never going to say, diagnosis: vampire. Never going to say that. All that will be stated is anomalies the person may have. Mine are numerous and so are others. Then there are those with websites that post what they believe the differences to be and some of them are quite amusing.

What some believe qualifies as a vampiric fills long lists depending on the website. Remember no one wants a censored internet do they? So therefore the offerings can be anything. Even if you go on an organizational site that is what might be termed "approved," you will find that not everyone believes the same thing. Medicine and Science are not full proof or static. The views and new discoveries are changing all the time.

I was a charter member of Carl Sagan's Planetary Society and they had meetings and get-togethers in Pasadena quite frequently and why didn't I attend? It was too costly the same as medical testing. If someone was to privately offer their services to test a large number of people all over the world, some would comply. I already know many of my anamolies and am old enough I don't care what others believe. Just because they tell me this book says this or that book says that won't make me believe something that is of a spiritual nature unless I come to that conclusion on my own.

I believe there is spirituality involved but not necessarily religion. That is dependent on the individual. It just gets old that there are so many eccentric people out and about doing this and writing that thinking because they did all these things, lecture and what have you that they have the correct answers. Sometimes the word vampire was used just to mean someone who drained their people dry, in-other-words, took all their money and food supplies for the wealthy or themselves depending on the case and had nothing to do with what most are talking about in the present. Same as the way the word leech is sometimes used.

I sit back and watch the heated debates both here and where the community posts and am amazed that there isn't much difference in the amount of disagreement. I learned recently how short life can be and my thing is let people be. Let them live their lives believing they are this or that if it harms no one else. If you can't prove they exist then you can't prove they are harming anyone or that they don't exist. Some of what is written about vampires in history is mere propaganda spread by the church. Laurence Gardner wrote about this in his books. It was boogieman scare tactics. They were involved with blood or taking lifeforce. BOTH not just one. It depended on the tale, ie: Leanan Sidhe in Ireland takes lifeforce and the Lhiannon Shee in the Isle of Man takes blood and are suppose to be the same creature. Things written in the past are stories that were told orally in the beginnning and cannot be taken as fact. PERIOD

Rival religious groups made up horrific stories about the others and came up with creatures that did all manner of things. Lilith was changed into a baby killing monster and Astarte into a male demon. The list goes on. It's nice people wrote about things in antiquity but it doesn't mean it isn't just superstition or blantant lies. All I have to say.

MY SON MATT

Times Read: 548

I'm still here but will be leaving tomorrow night for my son's funeral. He died January 18th in Lebanon, MO. I'm going with his three sisters. I'm still in shock and can't believe he is gone especially now after so many of my family have passed away. He has a surving wife and an 18 month old son. It will be the first time I will see his son.

If anyone I know here would like to sign his online guest book, it is located at this URL:
