She is one of a kind.
A brief whispering through my mind.
She erases my concerns with a glance in my direction.
To me, she is pure perfection.
Stronger than any human should be,
She carries a weight that anyone can see.
When the world tries to push her down,
She's quick to stand her ground.
Sensitive yet truthful to me,
She's everything I desire to be.
I've told her time and time again that she has no rival
The thief of my breath from the start,
The rogue that controls my heart.
She's ripped and torn.
Perhaps sometimes wishing she weren't born.
I feel at times I can protect her,
Make her temporarily forget her fear.
Taking her hand, I squeeze it tight.
And tell her to listen with all her might.
If he hits you more,
Put him on the floor.
Fore that is his proper place.
Meant to kneel to your undying grace.
It's okay to weep.
Any secrets you have, I'll keep.
Kissing her hand, I look into her eyes.
Then I, myself, begin to cry.
Such a perfect angel should not be here.
She should be far away without torture.
But heal her, I will.
Or keep trying until my heart sits still.
Her face so peaceful while she rests.
To keep it this way, I'll do my best.

Maye,
The poem is beautiful, as is the heart that it comes from. I am grateful that she has you in her life.
