A CT Scan is a medical process by which medical professionals can often see things happening internally...a big comprehensive x-ray, in a fashion. It has been verbally abbreviated to often sound like "cat".
The process itself is not actually a "cat scan".
A "cat scan" is a process by which you nervously survey a room looking for a vicious furry feline which may pounce and attack you for no reason in spite of your loving feeding and care.

Nightgame had a cat one time- the thing would chomp on your ankles. Meanest thing I ever meet, hissing, spitting, growling. And that was with me just looking at it from ten feet away. I never meet a cat I did not like... but him. She called it Boo Boo or something cute like that. I called it HELL CAT. :)
