Mistress of the Dark
Shadows guarding the sun from simmering bare skin,
Given to the universe, thrown towards everything.
But the world could not see this mistress of the dark,
She knew her ways around the trees like the concaves of her heart.
The shadows linger over her as she takes a breath,
But even her breath is silent as she takes the next step.
Covering her left breast with the palm of her right hand,
She slows its beating back again as she sees the man.
Admired him every day for as long as she could,
But never take a step towards him, and she knew she never would.
He had no knowledge of her existence, though they were barely ever apart,
She imagined it was her hand in his as she peered out from the dark.
He continued his daily life without a hindrance or a wonder,
Never even gave her direction a glimpse or a ponder.
'He'd only break my heart,' she thought, though it never did occur,
That her heart was still breaking, but its murderer was her.
I'll stop loving you
When diamonds never sparkle & flowers cease to grow
When thunder never echos & rivers dont flow
When hearts no longer wonder & hands are never held
When smiles are only memories & hope is never felt
When trees no longer blossom & refuse to shine
Then i'll stop loving you.
