*This was once a dream I had, it was very intense. I changed the ending to better suit the story.*
I'm in second period when it happens. First there's a high pitched scream, then a loud buzzing noise. I hear something heavy fall to the floor and I know immediately that I'm in trouble. My classmates and teacher freeze in their seats and stare at the door as the seconds go by. I don't wait another second so I leap from my desk and pull open the door, leaving behind my frightened classmates and immobile teacher. Shaking but wanting to know what's going on, I step into the empty hallway. About a second later I am joined by other students as they start pouring out of their rooms in terror. Some of them are crying silently while others are wailing loudly. Without even thinking twice, I join them in their fleeing even though I don't feel very comfortable in turning my back to the source of the chaos. I decide to turn my head around and see if I can catch anything that's going on. The moment in which I do, however, I wish that I didn't look.
The man is very tall and thin, almost six feet in height. He has on a white lab coat that is speckled with crimson and his hands are holding a large buzzing chainsaw that is lathered in blood. He's walking slowly as if he has all the time in the world to kill every one of us and drain us of our blood. His thick boots make an eerie sound as he makes his way to the room in which I was in about a minute ago. It sends a shiver through my entire body. His boots are leaving behind a thick trail of blood as he walks. He's about to enter the classroom when suddenly he turns to face me and starts to chase after the crowd that I'm in. Adrenaline shoots through me as I desperately try to escape his quick jog. Knowing that I'm only mere seconds away from death, I rush past the others around me and attempt to tell them that he's right behind us, but I find that my lips can't move in the midst of so much hysteria and panic. Tears start to form in my eyes as I listen to the ragged breaths of my fellow classmates and the buzzing chainsaw that keeps approaching closer. A chilling scream pierces the hallway as one of the students toward the back becomes the killer's next victim. I dare myself not to look back again and this time it works as I focus my eyes on what is front of me.
The hallway suddenly splits into two directions, either left or right. Most of my classmates end up choosing the right side for some reason, but I don't think about it as I choose to run left. The sickening sounds of the chainsaw cutting through flesh followed by the splattering of blood is almost enough to make me start vomiting, but I hold back my extreme nausea and continue to run in an attempt to escape. I need to get out of here now, I think to myself as I hear the boots again. Fear shoots through me as I am forced to stop running once I realize that I've hit a dead end and that I have to go down the stairs. I look behind me and realize that the man has decided to turn right instead of left, leaving me with precious time to escape. With shaky legs I descend the stairs in a rush, almost tripping over the last couple of steps because of my uncontrollable fear. The other students and I collectively sigh in hope as we set our eyes on the main door of the school which is only a couple of feet away from us. In the back of my mind I think I'm going to be killed by the man with the chainsaw and I keep waiting for the moment as I sprint to the door, but the moment never comes. We push the doors open and run away from the school in desperation. None of us say a word as we run with our hearts pounding violently in our chests, knowing that the danger is still so near and that safety is only an illusion trying to fool us into the abyss.
