Hopes and dreams,
Brought down by wicked schemes.
Lookin at a future of laser beams,
A baby screams.
Nothing is ever really quite what it seems,
Seeing those lies on the TV screens,
I wanna scream myself,
Wipe away the dirt and grime,
Bring back a sense of the sublime.
So far away,
Those dirty scenes- of tragedy,
Of ill machines,
Makin' war against the old regimes.
It so sad to know,
That blow by blow,
We kill the thoughts of radical teens,
By sending them away,
To become marines.
Don't worry ma'am,
Won't be gone long,
Be back soon,
Though a body bag looms.
Another blow lands a hook,
On a lonely mother,
Waiting to cook,
A meal,
The one from that book- the one he likes,
But it's not to be,
Her world was just shook.
Grief and torment for the son they took,
A father too,
Not that they'd know,
The girl,
Now Fiancè to a spook.
One shot was all it took,
To end another dream,
Of some guy,
His life was a damn short book,
And it all ended cus our land is crook.

Delicate snow falls,
Like the sparkles missing from my life,
They escape with the wind,
I try in vain to hold on,
But melting in my palm,
They are gone before the pattern is even a memory.
I stare- always attentive,
Watching a graceful descent from heaven,
As young souls might take up their bodies,
So do the flakes settle to their comfort,
Pure brilliant and glorious white.
With gathering pace and flurries of haste,
The wind whips up toward a sting,
Filigree petals become droplets of ice,
Lashing my features into a frown,
Bearing my soul down and into the ground.
It's wet and cold out here alone,
Streets are noisy this side of town,
But the snow makes it all seem so clean,
Not as wrong as I know that they have been,
This life is deception from the future I seek.
There is but only one path through the drifts,
Golden it shines,
Like honey in a sunny noon,
I follow to see where the light brings me to,
But its a tunnel of mystery,
With no end.

"We kill the thoughts of radical teens,
By sending them away,
To become marines."
So true in my time, but the teens now.... do they even know what is going on? Can they even tell you if you ask? Old enough to kill, but not old enough to know why.
"Fiance to a spook." Wonderful line.
