Today - 0 miles walked, but core work and mild weights (legs only, I know, I know - no arms! Don't injure the injured shoulder!)
Back in the saddle, puppy!
Weekly Summary 11/20 through 11/26
11/20 - 0 - core work
11/21 - 6 1/4 Miles - 110 minutes
11/22 - 0 - core work
11/23 - 0 - loafed
11/24 - 2 miles - 40 minutes
11/25 - 0 - loafed
11/26 - 4 Miles - 71 minutes
Totals:
12 1/4 Miles walking
221 minutes (3 hours, 41 minutes)
Told ya it'd be light this week. :) AND - I ate a LOT. Completely shameless, me.
Next weekly summary will be for 11/27 - 12/03.
7 miles today, 131 minutes.
Nothing yesterday. That means a summary!
SO. Doc Hadnott says:
Confirmation of arthritis (again), and rotator cuff tendinitis and bursitis, complicated with an old poorly healed torn tendon.
Physical therapy loometh. OH. No running for the time being. Walking, yes, but not running. It jars the shoulder?
(Thank you, CGH, Yes, Loomis, the physical therapist, has a lisp. Booger. :P)
Walking/jogging did not happen yesterday evening. Tonight, however - game on. :)
Ok. So.
6 1/4 miles - 115 minutes
Two minutes slower than Sunday.
My hips are screaming at me.
It'll get better as my body adjusts to the distance, so ... adjusting first, time improvement later. Three times a week for now is my goal to go this distance with stuff like core work (abs and back) in between, and light weights.
o.o
Oooowwwcchhh.
I did it.
6 1/4 Miles walked.
113 minutes is the time. I know I slowed down toward the end (damned hip, and damned arthritis anyway), but I can become accustomed to the distance. Now ... As I become accustomed to it, I would like to reduce the time in little increments. :) This is the distance of the 10K in May. I think I shall try, for the most part, to stick to this distance, and work on winnowing in the run/walk, etc.
SO.
6 1/4 Miles - all walked - 113 minutes

Congrats so far...you'll be there, and you'll do it...SuperChick!
That's amazing! Good regime to get into!
I just walk like 4k to work, and 4k home, about 4 times a week. Used to be everyday, then college started. I know I should have drive, but it's just so much easier to do something when you have an ulterior motive, you know?
Proud of ya.. you can do it! :D
Brilliant ... and that's just you!
You'll appreciate this. I've been running for years, doing races, and what not and I STILL appreciate it:

Right on! Very cool. :)
Ok. Here we go. Today - my goal is to get to 6 1/4 miles. Walking, jogging, crawling, whatever. So. I'm going to the track at the school with my water and my music, and I'm going to get as close to that fucking goal as I can. After that - it all becomes a matter of improving the time on 6 1/4 miles, be it jogging, walking or crawling.
After that ... 5 1/2 months of improving time (or at least whining less about distance) should put me in decent stead. Ish. :P
I'll confirm or deny when I get back home.

I always knew you kicked @$$ and took names..
Thats awesome
Last night I neither ran nor walked.
My activity level HAS increased, with more running/walking, etc. Yesterday, I got sick on the way home; my brother had to drive. I was shaky, nauseated, headachey. I tested my blood sugar when I got home, because I tend toward low blood sugar, and it was at 52.
I think ... I need to eat more, and keep candy with me, or something similar. And I am going to set an alarm, yes, FM, on my cell phone to remind me to stuff food in my mouth on a regular basis.
Tonight - I am still exhausted. I am going to sleep.
Tomorrow: I run. :)

Peanut butter and a spoon in a random desk drawer....yum! Compliments of your local VR RN. :)
♥
You rocketh my thockth. :)
2.25 miles run.
I contacted the middle school near where I live, and they said their track is open at all hours - and there is no need to check in with security! So - I ran there this evening. Pedometer app fails, by the way, for running. (Good thing I can count quarter mile laps, eh?)
It was cold and dark, though. No lighting at the track, which does worry me a bit. We'll see how it goes before it gets too cold for this wuss.
It's GOOD to have options!
I drove home, and on the drive there is a McDonald's. - GodDAMN but their fries smelled fan-fucking-tastic. I did not eat before I ran, so I was starving by the time I got home. I inhaled dinner like someone was going to try and take it (I'd have eaten their fingers, too).
Oh - Note to the teenaged white boy: If I have to open my mouth like I did when Glen was firing the cannons at TRF to save my eardrums, and your shit still causes me pain?! - you are about 30 seconds away from me shooting those rap-blaring speakers in your tacky car. I am not even kidding a little. You are damaging your innards, and you'll be wearing hearing aids by the time you are 30.
Be told.
Cheers!
How belated! My first week, 10/30 through 11/5
10/30 - 2.5 Miles - Ran
1031 - 2.1 Miles - Ran
11/1 - 5 Miles - Walked
11/2 - 2.2 Miles - Ran
11/3 - 0 - loafed
11/4 - 0 - loafed
11/5 - 0 - BUT - 5 hours cleaning (counts for something?)
Totals:
6.8 Miles running
5 Miles walking
11.8 Miles, all told.
Next weekly summary will be for 11/6 through 11/12.
Ok. I downloaded a pedometer app on my phone.
Today I walked 4.7 miles. It was humid as an armpit here this morning, so "Dee" equals "made of sweat." (BLEAH!)
Tomorrow, I see if the pedometer app is worth a damn on jogging or whether I need to buy a real pedometer.
I am also giving road jogging a test run. (Pun?! HAH!) I don't know whether I will like it. I may eventually end up driving to a place I KNOW it is safe to run, and running there. There are no sidewalks or running lanes/bike lanes within a mile or so of my house, and people drive like psychos. I can WALK on the berm safely enough, but I think I'd break something trying to RUN on it.
The big loop in my community is 1.2 miles, so if I run that twice, it's 2.4. (I checked it with the car.) I can check that against the pedometer app and see how well it tracks for running.
Tomorrow after about 7pm, it should be fairly clear-ish for running. (I live in a mostly retirement community, so it gets quiet early, thank you gods!)
Ok. That's it.
Second shower for the day has been had (thank you again, gods!) and soon - I am going to inhale lunch! (Uno mas tiempo por las gracias a los Dios!)

Pedo... meter? o.o
Dee, watch out for stranger vans. o.o
Oh, I am entirely paranoid while out walking/running. heh. I tend to give any vehicle I think is passing me too slowly the mal ojo (the evil eye). :P
Good luck with the run Req :) You are doing better than me as these days I am just working flat out to make up for my break in Dublin. Doncha just hate it when you get a taste for carbs again.. takes me ages to get wanting them out of my system again!
2.1 miles.
Damn, that felt really difficult.
It must be because I had caca for sleep last night. I should sleep MIGHTY well tonight.
Fuck. I ran YESTERDAY. I was supposed to walk today.
:;sigh::
I forgot! I counted yesterday's five hour cleaning frenzy as my exercise yesterday.
This morning, got up, changed the clocks, ran 2.3 miles.
COMMENTS
Well done Req :)
Bravo! See you at my next race?!
2.2 miles!
Ow. :P

Easy Badger...no killing yourself.
I'd be lucky to walk that nevermind running lol
So, after some discussion, today I walk, not run, and today I am going to walk a good deal farther than two miles.
Apparently trying to do it all at once is kind of dumb.
Note to self. Heh.
After I walk, I'll post the mileage with the "walking" caveat.
Tomorrow, I run again.

Weight work is still an important factor ;-)

Cool.. but it's lethal doing weights when there is a muscle out of place though. I should know, put my spine out in three places and twisted my pelvis in a fall. It put me out of action for seven months, and out of pocket with twice weekly visits to the chiropracter.
It feels amazing to be back at the gym again though.. I played 'hookey' from work today and ran for 3.3 mile non-stop. Broke my personal record :)
