I don't know what strained me more today.
The fact that I actually sat here and rated 300, yes THREE HUNDRED profiles, and my eyes are literally swollen from the amount of crap I actually had to read through to find anything decent.....
Or the thick aroma of duck grease and chocolate that has pervaded my house....kismet wars are a bitch, hum guys?
Yes, but it won’t be free.

Could the brothel of the future be staffed by sex machines rather than humans? Yes, say two researchers in New Zealand. You might one day make love to a robot.
Imagine a group of friends decides to visit a brothel, expecting to be greeted by a line of beautiful women to spend the evening with them. There’s a chance that those men might be greeted by smiling faces, but there’s no guarantee that those beauties will be women – or even human.
Two professors at Victoria University theorize that by the year 2050, robots will have replaced humans as sex workers. In Ian Yeoman and Michelle Mars’ vision of the future, Amsterdam has decided to scale-back legal prostitution, but feared that eliminating the Red Light District completely would damage the city’s tourism industry. The solution in the researcher’s imagined 2050 is to have androids take the place of human women. Sex tourists would offer 10,000 euro for an evening with a machine programmed to meet their every desire. The pleasure bots, made of “bacteria-resistant fibre” would then be cleansed before being sent to the next customer.
The notion seems ludicrous at first, but there’s a small chance this could be plausible in the future. Though prostitution may be sanctioned in many places, it is often associated with trafficking unwilling young women to work in brothels and where they face abuse. And there has been talk that Amsterdam should consider dimming the red light district in part because of those fears. Introducing robots to dance, talk, and have sex with customers might fix that thorny issue.
Moral issues aside, the idea strikes me as fascinating. Machines taking the place of human jobs in the future are to be expected, but the world’s oldest profession seems like a job that would be exempt from that threat. Not so say Yeoman and Mars. In their paper “Robots, Men And Sex Tourism,” the pair argue, ”Robot sex is safer sex, free from the constraints, precautions and uncertainties of the real deal.”
Ah, but will those robots be as good or familiar as the “real deal” that mankind has known for centuries? And if it’s not technically the real deal, would spouses still consider it cheating if the sex act isn’t with another person? Perhaps these AI lovebots might be too close for comfort.
A future of robot companionship isn’t ideal for everyone, but it might be enough for people looking for Cylon intimacy 40 years from now.

Damn! I loved Dark Shadows it was my favorite show.He made the best Barnabas Collins.
I'm disappointed the new dark shadows is going to be a comedy .. kinda hoped they stay on the old series trac
Awwww. This makes me sad.
This is too bad. It would have been cool if he could have had a chance to see the movie, and comment on it.
I was really hoping to see him with Depp & Burton at the premier, I thought it would be cool to see his reactions. :(
Got as much done as I could in preparation for doing more stuff to the bathroom before Steve (the inlaw) and Scott (the hubby) got busy wid it on Friday putting in the now here black toilet and the vanity that has been residing in the front hall for 4 months...
Then I get a call from Scott at work. Seems he was lightheaded, and couldn't breathe properly. Suffice it to say, I was there in a flash, but since it was a holiday weekend, it made things a little weird getting him into his regular doc, so doc in the box it was. Fortunately, there was one on the was home from his job, and the doctor said hepassed his physical with flying colors, that all he did was have a vaso vagal spasm which shorted his brain a bit for a second, i.e. he stood up too fast, turned too fast, etc.
But I was still scared shitless.
Then his dad shows up Friday, and his thumb is swollen and black. I checked, it was broken, but he had dropped a rather heavy bar on the tip. He was going ot be in alot of pain for a bit, and he has a hell of a bruised nail, and it will come off eventually, so there's another Kendall I'm worrying about.
And tomorrow I have to work a wedding......
And in pulling the medicine cabinet off the wall to put in the faucet on my new vanity, half the paper on the dry wall, along with part of that paint job I slaved over for 2 month came off the wall.....*sigh*
Good thing I got some left....

Take a deep breath..........and get on with it. :) Hugs!
I'm glad it wasn't serious for Scott and hope his dad's thumb heals quickly. Patching drywall is messy but not too hard as long as you still have some of the paint you used you'll be fine after a stiff drink or two :)
::tugs on your bootstraps for you:: Sometimes, it takes an extra hand to pull yourself up, honey, and we rarely have choices about HAVING to do so.
:;hug strength::
