wow I just started talking to a friend about great moments in our lives, and i remembered writing a letter to my 1st to 6th grade principal trying to locate him
I basically thanked him for his influence without it I dont know where Id be now, because of all his positive influence even when he had to punish me, it helped me move forward and become alot of who i am today,or was at that moment in time.
I had told him thanks to him I was able to push forward through chaotic roads and graduate high school. I left my number at the time, as well as a picture of me from back when he was my principal as well as one of me in rotc and graduation pics.
I get a letter back a bout a week or 2 later from his wife, Apparently he had issues talking lost a leg to diabetes and a hand to an accident, had advanced Alzheimer (or how ever its spelt) and barely could remember even his wife. he had the letter read to him and shown pictures and he smiled for the first time in months as he fully remembered of all people me.she called me up and i talked to him a time or 2,
then i got a letter in the mail about 2-3 months later stating of his passing. and because my letter left tears and smiles in his eyes they read it at his eulogy.which had been signed by his immediate family thanking me for giving him that smile.
