Of the many things,
From beginning to end,
We've fought for in this life,
One astonishes me.
It amazes me,
That in desperate corners of the world,
People die because they are different.
Yet as a nation,
We turn our backs.
On our own streets,
Most would hate someone,
Just because they hold the hand of the one they love.
Just recently,
Doctors denied dying patients,
The final embrace of their one true love.
Of the many things we've fought for,
One leaves me in awe.
Some fight to give it,
Some legislate to with hold it from a people in need.
Whatever form it takes,
I cant believe,
We fight over love.

:') I love it <3 Would that I could come up with some more poetic response than that, but I simply love it (and you for that matter). It's brilliant. Its direct and unpretentiously yet poetically stated thesis is emotionally stirring and inspiring. Thank you for sharing it <3
