AN INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE STALLION

Amongst my VR friends, MDLIVE13 is one who I can trust to be the perfect gentleman, true to his word, and I know if I need his help, he'll be there. I had met MDLIVE13 in the sandbox simply ages ago, but I always wanted to meet him in person and find out if he really was an Italian stallion and what made him tick...
I knocked on the door to his apartment and heard the hottest, deepest voice I had ever heard call out "Come in!" There was MDLIVE13, dressed in black and white, with his customary Nikes and his shades, singing an Italian song, waving a wooden spoon about as if he was conducting an orchestra, and grinning as if he had won the lottery...
I raised my eyebrows and he simply said, "MD is in LOVE!" I giggled, I didn't need any other explanation, I knew as well as anyone on VR knows, that Naamh is MD's ladylove, together they were hotstuff, no wonder he was happy... I wanted to know; who is MDLIVE13?
This is what he told me:
Yes Yes! I am in love.. And its really Nice.
I feel like a little kid in a candy store.
You walk around with this big ass grin on your face and all you do is talk about them and think of them 24/7.
*Smiles*
Thank you so much for the kind words,
That means a lot to me PAGAN.
I just made some fresh coffee have some..
*Brings coffee to you*
Here you are my dear.
All I can really say is
I am what I am,
And who am I really?
I have like everything I can think of in my VR Profile.. ;) And then some. I always like people to know me for me.
I will try to say a few things.
*smiles*
I am a son.
I am a brother.
I am a cousin.
I am a friend.
I am a lover.
I am a fighter.
I am loyal.
I am the air you breath.
I am true to myself.
I am there for my friends.
I am understanding.
I am happy.
I am smart.
I am unique.
I am bad.
I am good.
I am sincere.
I am here.
I am outspoken.
I am honest
I am a sire.
I am compassionate.
I am in love.
I am your friend.
I am alive.
I am doing this interview.
I am so many things
And so much more.
But most of all.. I am ME MD.
MDLIVE13 was interesting, really interesting. I could see right away his sense of honour and loyalty, and I knew he would protect his loved ones and friends with his life. Here was someone you could trust to be in your corner when you needed a friend. I wanted to know, what his values were?
He said:
I am very serious about what I hold
as most important, of value.
Really it is for me as in
loving them that are close and
letting them know it, Taking care of your own
and being there when they need you.
Discipline and honor.
Standing up for yourself and the ones you love.
Doing what You feel is right, and not what someone feels what you should do.
I am thankful for what I have as my health,
I value my girlfriend in my life, my family, my friends,
I value that I have had the discipline that makes me strong.
I am thankful that I live somewhere wonderful.
I value these things the most in my life.
Nodding, I listened to him as he spoke, all the while, realising that seldom do I meet a person with such clear cut morals, perhaps it was the Italian side of him...I asked him next, tell me how you came to know Naamah was the one for you?
With a passion only found in Italians, he told me:
*Smiles*
Well now that is the easy one,
I knew right away,
You know some things you just feel.
And as we talk just a few times.
I mean I knew this was the woman that I want to be with and just love her and love life with her. No one ever got to the deep parts of MD like she can. And that is love.. You know it when you feel it.
And .. I think she did as well.
And we grow stronger with each other everyday.
She is AMAZING!
We are very much in love.
And the overwhelming pure joy that this
woman gives to me is the best feeling in the world.
Now that was sweet, romantic, and to be perfectly honest, dead HOT... Naamah is one lucky lady...I next wanted to know what was the most memorable moment during his road to Sire?
He thought for a bit and then told me:
Oh Man I have so many good memories of
VR, and reaching sire was not easy.
But I really must say it is those of you that have been there with me even when I was not at my best and right there next to me.
I want to thank Aracon as one of these people, my girlfriend and my coven.
I would not have what I have now.
I will never forget the ones that helped me like they did.
And still do.. That will stay with me forever.
MDLIVE13 was a hardworking man, he sure put his back into things. I wondered, what does MD do for fun?
He laughed and said:
Oh.. You mean other then VR? Haha
Going for romantic walks.
Playing with my dog.
My girlfriends sexy hot dancing.
Ice Cold Coorslight!
Blasting my play list so loud my head pops.
Being out in the night air.
Chilling on the couch to watch a movie.
Workingout.
Reading.
Cooking And.. Eating *Smiles*
Spending time with the ones I love.
Going shopping.
I know that this may seem boring to some,
It is really fun for me.
I had to laugh at that. This guy knew how to kick back and enjoy life so I asked him, what makes you happiest?
Grinning now, he told me:
*Smiles*
Really just enjoying life
and that feeling of loving that someone
and knowing that they love you just as much
if not more. For me knowing that they are happy, Well that really makes me happy.
Once again I laughed, I had kinda known what answer to expect but thought I should ask it anyway, just for fun...I had to leave for my next interview then, but I asked one last question, where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
This is what he said:
On a tropical island with my lover in my arms,
With that same big smile as I do now.
Brilliant, I wasn't disapointed (except that I had to leave of course), MDLIVE13 was indeed a stallion...I promised to be in touch with him soon and I made my way home thinking about the real meaning of friendship and glad that I had found it with MD.
Congratulations on reaching Sire MD!
*Smiles*
HE said: Thank You so much!!
I am thankful that you are on this site and a friend of mine.
I appreciate your ongoing support.
AN INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE SIREN

Of all the friends I have here on VR, one stands out for me because she is my Coven sister, so sweet I could eat her, and she has now reached the magical level of Sire. I simply had to interview Bellasiren to find out if she's really as sweet as she seems, what she thinks about life on VR, and what she does for fun...
I didn't have to go far to meet Bellasiren, she lives in the same country as me, so I hopped on a train and before I knew it, I was at her front door...a sultry sexy voice called out "come in" and I knew instantly it was Bellasiren. She sounded just like she looked, peachy and perfect and was so glamorous, I thought I'd been transported to Hollywood. She wore a beautiful gown with killer heels and her diamonds just sparkled, I was dazzled. Who is Bellasiren? (I asked).
This is what she told me: I'm just a down to earth girl really. I try my best to help people on their path through life as I know how hard it is for those like us to make it on our own....Though my name Bellasiren does actually describe me very well *winks*
I nodded at that. Bellasiren was the girl-next-door with Hollywood style and the allure of a Siren, pulling me into her gaze, I could see how men would be falling at her feet just to look into these beautiful green eyes. My next question was, now that you have sired, when you look back to being a whelp, what changes (if any) have you gone through as a person during your time here?
Bellasiren said: I have gone through a big change really - finding this sight was no accident. I feel I was drawn here for a reason and I love it here. I have found a few kindred souls and a family on my journey to Sire and one very special person *smiles* yep My Thyme.
I loved that answer. Bellasiren, like all of us do, had been through a few ups and downs here on VR, but she kept on smiling and had won many hearts. I wondered if there was anyone special in her life at the moment?
Giggling and grinning so much I thought she would burst, she told me: I think everyone already knows the answer to this one..... :) hehe ....They dont get any more special than Thyme :)
I giggled at her answer. I could see just how smitten she was with her man. They made the cutest couple and I wished her many happy moments with him. I wanted to know if Bellasiren was always so sweet. I had never seen her rant so I asked: what makes you angry?
She said: Fake people would have to be right up there..... I dont see the point in lying about pointless things or to try to make people think you are one thing when you are just a little fantasy in a dream world....... every one is entitled to their own beliefs and to choose their own path in life but there is no need to bring people down for your own satisfaction , I really cant stand people that prey on others for sport.
Another great answer. I never wanted to see Bellasiren angry, she was too pretty to scowl so I asked her, what is the funniest thing that has happened to you on VR?
She thought for a bit and then said: meeting someone who told me a different thing every time I spoke to him lol....these are a few things that he said he was
1. the son of god
2.a lycan
3.vampire
4.a witch........
he brightened my day with his endless lies and stories lol
I had to laugh at that. I loved VR for all its wierd and wonderful moments, and having great friends to share them with was the highlight of my days. I looked at my watch, I had to leave for the train but before I went, I asked Bellasiren one last question, if you had one wish, what would it be?
She didnt even have to think too hard for that answer. Smiling she told me: That my kids have a long and healthy life
...and thats why I say Bellasiren is sweet enough to eat, she really is. She looked, talked and behaved like a lady from an old Hollywood film, I felt I was in the presence of a star, perhaps I was...We hugged and I promised to catch up with her soon in the Coven. I left sad to be leaving, but happy to have met her.
Congratulations on reaching Sire Bellasiren!
AN INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE PRINCE

The reason we are all here is that a man who loves goth had a genius idea one day. That man is Cancer, our Prince. I simply had to interview him...
Out in the Nevada desert, a tall impressive building stands, high above all the others, that is VR Towers. Right at the very top is Cancer's domain, the penthouse suite, and so I began the long journey towards the most interesting interview I would ever do.
As the lift travelled the hundreds of floors, I wondered if I would get to see the Prince himself because I knew just how busy he was making Vampire Rave even better for us all. I hoped his butler would let me in...
Eventually, I came to the door, glanced around for the bell and found a huge brass knocker (a relic from some gothic mansion, I imagined). I took a deep breath, and knocked...
"Come in" said a voice, I opened the door and saw the Supercomputer that took up almost the entire suite, some 5000 cubic feet. I gasped then because I saw the Prince himself walking towards me. "Oh you've seen my computer" he said "thats a little something I threw together at lunchtime, now, I only have 5 minutes, so please start right away".
Who is Cancer, I asked a little awed: I received my first computer in 1980. It was a TI-99 4a. It had no hard drive. It had no disk drive. If you wanted to save a program, you saved it to an audio cassette tape. It typically took 3-5 minutes to load a single program from a tape.
There were no computer programs. If you wanted your computer to do something, you had to tell it what to do. That's when I learned to program. I was 8.
Since 1980 I have kept up with technology standards, right through today. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State.
My life is, more or less, consumed with my work. I've gotten to a point in my life where I can focus on the projects I want to take on. It's a far better situation than working on projects others have contracted you to do.
An interesting answer but I could see he wanted to get back to his work, so I asked my next question right away. There are so many of us who eat, sleep and breath Vampire Rave, how did you come up with such a brilliant concept?
He answered: Vampire Rave wasn't born over night. It started as an idea to host actual Vampire Raves, back when I was running Vampire Radio in the late 1990s. I ended Vampire Radio in 2002 and the Vampire Rave project went on indefinite hold. In 2003 I started up Acrimony.org, a gothic/paranormal magazine. In 2004 I had a little free time so I started up Vampire Rave. The idea had morphed from a club website into a vampire database website.
By late 2004 Vampire Rave was taking up all my time and I was forced to abandon Acrimony. I've always wanted to restart Acrimony, and add a more modern flair (Acrimony was distributed in print format and electronically via PDF). I have plans for a new and improved Acrimony, but I have so many pending projects, it's difficult to know if I'll ever get it done.
In 2004 there weren't many social networking websites. I had never heard of MySpace at that point (although it did exist). Facebook was just starting up, but membership was limited to college students only.
For a solid year (June 2004 - mid 2005) I worked, slept, and breathed Vampire Rave. All I did was improve upon the site. It continued to change, and continues to change today.
Do you have any funny moments you can share with us during your reign of VR? Everything I can think of would be an inside joke, and wouldn't make sense to the average Joe.
I nodded then, I was the average Joe but Vampire Rave was simply brilliant and I led right away to my next question. The site is already amazing, but you constantly work to improve it. Can you tell me a little about what you have been working on just recently?
In late 2004 I knew I had a hit with Vampire Rave. It's why I kept working so feverishly on it, trying to improve it. At that time I had a project concept I code named Shadow of the Moon. It was a vampire/werewolf game, and a direct extension of Vampire Rave.
I started work on Shadow of the Moon, but after a few weeks I abandoned the project. In 2004 the technology did not exist to accomplish what I wanted to do. I had this idea in my head, and I couldn't translate it into a system that would deploy over a web platform.
Web browsers are inherently static and one-way in nature. You request a web page, your browser fetches it, then your browser, for all intents and purposes, shuts down. It doesn't care if you request another page or not. It has done its job and it will just sit there until *you* ask it to fetch another page. We call this statelessness. The web browser has no state.
Two-way server-client communication through a web browser has always been difficult. Plugins were developed to address the problem. My concept called for a game that didn't require any plugins or downloads. It needed to just play, and it had to play in a web browser.
I couldn't accomplish this is 2004. However, over the past year there have been some exciting new web technologies that make my original concept possible. In June I decided to take the project back up, and that is what I am currently working on. I scraped the old code name and came up with a new one: Rave Wars.
Rave Wars is a browser-based multi-player game. It requires zero downloads to play, but if you want sound you'll need to have Flash installed. I acquiesced a little on my 'no download' policy to include Flash, but just about every computer has Flash installed. Plus the game will play without it, there just won't be any sound.
It's hard to fit Rave Wars into a game category other than browser-based and multi-player. It's kind of like an RPG, and it's kind of like a MUD, but it's definitely in a class by itself. Rave Wars has so many new and unique features it may launch an entirely new game category.
If you've ever played a browser-based game before you've probably been disappointed. Rave Wars is something new. It is rich both visually and audibly. It has a compelling storyline and offers true multi-player all in a web platform. I'm not going to go into too many details about the game (I'll leave that for when the game goes public), but imagine this:
There's a very high-level player online. She's one of the most powerful players in the game. She's worked hard, leveled her character up, obtained all the top equipment, and is near unbeatable. No one has been able to take her down one-on-one in months.
But Rave Wars is multiplayer.
Six lower level players decide to team up. They form a group and go after our powerful hero. Together, they are able to take her down and they all share in the spoils. This all happens in real-time, blow-by-blow, in the browser.
Rave Wars, as a piece of programming code, is done. I just recently finished up the game engine. What I'm working on now is adding all the content. The monsters, game areas, pieces of equipment, etc. This process is long and tedious, but it's essential to the game.
Beta testing is scheduled to start on August 23rd. However, I may be forced to push that date back a week or two. I need to make sure I've generated enough game content before beta testing begins. Beta testing will run 2-4 weeks, and then hopefully the game will open up to the public. It will be a direct part of Vampire Rave. You'll log into Vampire Rave, then click the Rave Wars link if you want to play.
As soon as he talked technical stuff - beta testing; html; css; coding; updates - my mind started to wonder but I nodded appropriately and hoped he didn't realise he talked way over my head then. I would simply just have to wait to find out what it all meant...
As I listened to the Prince explain his work, I noticed a small camp bed in the corner strewn with Starcraft II paraphernelia, surely he didn't sleep there I thought, but then, he probably did. I knew that he had only one day off in all the six years of the site and that was his birthday this year. Do you ever take time out for yourself? What does Cancer do for fun? (I asked)
Actually I've had 3 days off since I started work on the Rave Wars project, which I started in early June. I took one day off for my birthday, then two days off to play a little Starcraft 2 when I just couldn't code anymore. Looking forward, I don't plan on taking any more days off until Rave Wars launches publicly. I never work less than 8 hours a day. 10-12 hours per day is the norm.
I really am doing the work of 6-12 people. I'm not just doing all the programming, I'm doing all the database work, all the graphical work, all the audio work, everything. This project is bigger than Vampire Rave itself. Although I've been working on it for more than two months now, I am flying through it. I am able to work very fast, as I have gotten very good at what I do.
As to fun, living near Las Vegas has its perks. I'll leave it at that.
Wow. Here was a man who was wholly committed to the site. Even Bill Gates had holidays. I decided not to take up any more of his time. My last question was: if you could do anything at all that you wanted, what would it be?
He thought about that for a moment, then smiled and said: I've accomplished just about everything I want to accomplish. I'm a pilot. That was a big one. The next step is getting my own plane. I take a lot of 'working vacations'. I work online, so I can work from anywhere. I love to travel. I've been to every US state, most of Canada, and a fair amount of Mexico. I've also travelled Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Monaco, France, and Germany.
There are always new destinations. Traveling is probably my favorite hobby and the main reason I became a pilot.
It was then I realised that none of us fully appreciated Cancer's hard work. I firmly resolved to never moan about site issues and all our flaming and rating dramas would have to stop too. I also vowed to tell everyone they needed to stop getting so involved in VR drama, but it was then I understood why the site was just so brilliant...
We make love, we learn, create, squabble, and moan because this place is our world and we are simply all doing what we do in real life. Genius, its genius.
I bowed and thanked Cancer for his time, knowing that the minute I left, he would be back to work, creating NASA's next space program as well as maintaining the VR updates.
A true Prince, he never once complained...Thank you Cancer.
AN INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE KID18:32 Sep 02 2010

Now, the interviews I had already done were with folk who have a high status on VR, but a broad range of really interesting folk use this site and so, to show the diversity, I simply had to speak with one of the younger ones to find out their views on life, VR and covens..The most entertaining young un just had to be DrCullen, a friend I had come to admire...
The one thing that made me hesitant was I could only find her in the Vampbox, which by all accounts, lowers a persons IQ to ridiculous levels...I took a deep breath and stepped in...The first thing that hit me (after the flying toys that is) was the stench...EEEEW... Well, never, and I mean NEVER had my nostrils been so violated...decayed pizza (or body-parts maybe??) littered the floor and every available surface, tumblers of mouldy juice were strewn about and something too horrible to mention ran down the walls in a gloomy, smokey cubicle. I was afraid to sit down so I stood by the door and prayed my shots were up to date. Taking a deep breath, I ventured my first question: Who is DR Cullen?
I guess I'm a child, in many senses of the world. I would rather play video games than do my homework, brushing my teeth has been a life-long battle and my bedroom is a nightmare. In a lot of ways, I'm immature, annoying and a general pain in the ass.
I'm also average, I think. I have the same hardships most people do, and I try to make it a little funnier, a little less dire. I have the same emotions as other people, and I display them in different ways that are the same.
I, am me.
Oh, I was pleasantly surprised. That was not the answer I had expected. Perhaps there was more to kids nowadays than pizza and diapers after all. Fairly confident now that I would find some pearls of wisdom amongst the litter, I asked her, what are your hopes for your VR life?
I don't aspire to be something great, but to bring a little light into someones' day. I want to be able to find people to talk with, people that can share my views, hopes, dreams. I want to have fun.
I don't want to start a coven, or a mentorship either. I do have a habit of just walking when things get hard. If that were to happen in my own place, I couldn't petition for a trade. *winks*
I had to laugh at that last. Here was a kid with an awesome sense of humour. DrCullen was highly intelligent after all and I warmed to her lots after hearing that answer, and I hoped the older VR members would recognise the intelligence that shone from this bratty kid. My next question was: without giving away any coven secrets, tell me about the covens you have been in, (knowing full well that she had her fair share of ups and downs in a coven).
This is what she told me: Ah, covens. I've been in plenty, I've seen the fall of plenty and I guess I'm a coven ding-dong-ditcher. But I like them. I love having somewhere to share my thoughts, to have a say on issues that are interesting to me. I like the closeness that comes about, the family-style bickering.
Though I do have a fondness for covens, I never seem to stay in one place for long. *shrugs* A unending series of unfortunate events, but I've grown tired of moving. I want to be a stable member.
I smiled knowingly at that. I too had changed my first coven, so I understood these issues all too well. Its not easy to find the right place first go. Now, (I said to her), what do you all do for fun here on VR, hoping that the Vampbox was not her only answer because I felt overwhelmed by the stupidity that crept up on me like a bad smell.
DrCullen smiled in a totally adult way and said: I eat Coven Masters. :P
Seriously? I like to argue, debate and learn. I love hearing other peoples views, and though some of the stuff said isn't to my liking, I hope to be able to look upon things with as unbiased a mind as as possible. Consistency is the final refuge of the unimaginative, I think. For fun, I stick things in the blender.
Once again, I roared with laughter. I felt that I had met genius, albeit in a precocious kind of way. I laughed with her as she giggled, squirmed about and fidgeted like kids do when they are anxious to get back to their fun. I wouldn't keep her long, I had only one more question and then I would be off to my boring adult world. Now, keep it clean, but tell me what has made you laugh the most here on VR?
Everything! I like the unexpected, the odd, and Vampire Rave is one of the best places to find this. I like irony. Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?
I laugh at things that shouldn't really be laughed at, but people have different tastes. He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.
I roared again at that. DrCullen was awesome. She faced the normal teenage challenges of hormones, school and friendships, which can daunt the majority of us, but more importantly, she knew how to have a laugh in a world full of the wierd and wonderful.
I thanked her for her time, and realised a hug was appropriate then. Fondly, I smiled and promised that in future I would stand in her corner if she ever needed a friend. I wiped my hands on the towel at the door and promised myself I would hurry to find the antibacterial handwash as soon as I left that smelly, strange place...d'oh...

I liked the answer
"On a tropical island with my lover in my arms,
With that same big smile as I do now."
Wicked!
