Devotional *Accepting Others*19:42 Jan 27 2012

Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
Luke 15:1-2
Here recently I have taken some heat because I have accepted membership (even if it's just a Honorary one) into the order of the Black Dragon's.
People say they are a group of devil worshipers..or a Satanic cult. Now I'm not saying if they are or not, What I'm saying is it doesn't matter what they are. They have accepted me. a true blue, at the core, bible toting Christian. And that is a lesson many of us need to learn. And that is love, Biblical love, or otherwise is acceptance.
It’s not always accepting of other’s decisions or their way of life, but it accepts them as people, no matter what. That’s the kind of love God showed to you in the person of Jesus Christ. It’s the kind of love Jesus lived out as He fellowshipped with the rejects of Jewish society. It’s the love of forgiveness and acceptance.
So the next time you think about rejecting somebody for who they are or what they do.Think about those whom others reject, Because of the power of love in you, you can accept. Show the love of others each day by actively loving them no matter what they do.
LOVE IS AN ACTIVE LOVE THAT ACCEPTS OTHERS, NO MATTER WHAT. FIND SOMEONE TODAY WHOM YOU CAN LOVE WITH AN ACTIVE, ACCEPTING LOVE.
Devotional *Dealing with Anger*
15:42 Jan 05 2012

Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
Psalm 37:8
Growing up, my mom use to cook with a pressure cooker. And I distinctly recall one Sunday when she was cooking pinto beans, and all of a sudden I heard, “KA-BOOM!” from the kitchen. When we walked in there and I saw pinto beans hanging from the ceiling from a over pressured cooker
That’s just like so many people today, isn’t it? They’ve got so much pressure and so much anger on the inside. They may give the excuse, “Oh, that’s just the way I am” or “That’s just my temperament.” But the Bible says that in Christ, you are a new person. So put away those things that destroy and damage you and those around you… including your temper!
When my wife and I got married, we made a pledge that we would never go to bed angry at each other. Well, we’ve kept that promise. In fact, we use to stayed up half the night on some occasions because we know how destructive anger can be. It’s like a parasite that slowly eats away at you.
Relationships are rarely shattered because of one incident. Instead, anger builds over time and eventually explodes all over the place. So if you have anger in you, don’t let it go unchecked. Confess it to others and make things right today!
ANGER IS A VERY DESTRUCTIVE FORCE FOR ANY RELATIONSHIP. SO IF YOU HAVE ANGER TOWARD SOMEONE, CONFESS IT AND MAKE IT RIGHT TODAY!
Devotional *Encourage Each Other*

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
I just love when others encourage me. Isn’t it great to be around someone whose words are encouraging and edifying? Someone who makes you feel good because of their words that build you up and bring you grace just when you need it?
One of the most attractive and healing personalities in the world is an individual who can spread grace, and blessing, and build up others with encouraging words. You see, anybody can tear down with destructive words, but God’s people should build up!
I was in line at a grocery store one time and there was a lady there with several small children. I guess those children had gotten the best of her because she got so angry with them. She lit into those kids with her words, just damaging them and cursing them. And I thought, “Those little children are growing up with words that tear down instead of build up!”
With your children, with your spouse, or with anyone, use words that encourage. Even when you have a disagreement, you can disagree agreeably. Don’t let your emotions control your reactions, but be intent on showing restorative grace to others just as God shows it to you!
EVEN IN TIMES OF DISAGREEMENT, SHOW GRACE AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS BECAUSE YOUR GOAL SHOULD ALWAYS BE RESTORATION INSTEAD OF CONDEMNATION.
Devotional *Being Truthful*

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
Ephesians 4:25
ask yourself is simple question, “What is the definition of a lie?” Well, the answer is just as simple. A lie is a statement that is spoken with intent to deceive.
Now, lying comes in all shapes and sizes. For example, you can stretch the truth and tell a lie. Cheating is also a form of lying. And then there’s flattery—when you say something to somebody’s face that you wouldn’t say to their back!
But perhaps one of the most damaging of all lies is that of cowardice—when people fail to accept responsibility for their own actions. Those are the people who have a yellow streak where their backbone ought to be!
Why are we to be careful not to lie? Well, in today’s passage, the apostle Paul has in mind the idea of the unity of believers. He fully understands that there’s nothing more destructive or more damaging to the fellowship of the church than lies, distortions, untruths, and gossip.
So when it comes to your dealings with others, be truthful. Don’t let your desire to get ahead or be on someone’s good side cloud your judgment. Speak the truth in love and you’ll have friendships that will last a lifetime!
THERE’S NOTHING MORE DESTRUCTIVE TO A RELATIONSHIP THAT LYING. SO LOVE OTHERS BY ALWAYS BEING TRUTHFUL!
