I think that rather than setting out with this mindset of "I'm going to make friends," and then using that statement in your initial message when contacting everyone...you should just try simply enjoying vr. As in...make journal entries about your interests, make journal entries about your day or just things that are on your mind. If someone is interested they will comment on those entries, then you can message them to strike up a conversation about that topic. Just try going about it that way rather than messaging every single member online stating your intentions...that can be off putting to people and can result in your alienation. Just be cool. Enjoy your time here, utilize the site features in a positive manner and people will interact with you. Approach people how you see fit. As long as you are kind, and respectful the exchange should be normal. I understand your need to be rather open, but you don't need to explain yourself to attract attention or justify what you do here.



The first step in talking with someone is walking up and saying hi. Bam, you got that covered. Some people like that and some don't, and since you aren't psychic, I'm thinking a short message greeting is something a person can survive. How they perceive that and react is up to them. If they don't like it, they could simply say so and end communication. Unless of course they like playing games and dragging out the drama like many on here are known to do.

I would as I replied back like to be friends with you. Though I felt the message was really random you were sending it and not really personal. I wanted to respond back and will do so here, why do you want to be friends with me? Did you read something on my profile that had you thinking 'he seems cool, I would like to be his friend?' no all you did was send out a generic request.

I also get random replies like just the phrase hi or how are you? Though I reply to the messages and being a considerate person. I usually reply with asking how they are as well, most of the time it doesn't get further. As I agree with slain, I prefer a respectful environment simply because I have something called boundaries.

I have to say, I agree with the others who have already made comment here. Granted, I am obviously extremely late t the party, in this case, but considering I only received a message with essentially one big run-on sentence...

If you're an individual who really wants to get to know some of us, then it would likely be prudent of you to read through our journals or peer at other details we all leave behind in our profiles; find something you might like to make conversation of, and go from there.

I obviously haven't been on this site as long as a great many others, but I'm also not much of a "talker" for most things. I rely on my journal entries to speak My mind unless there is something about a person that I find "special". Hence, even I don't speak to many people on here anymore.

But if you really are interested in "making friends", then I do somewhat wonder your reason for doing so on a site so... "restrictive", per say, of so many odd lifestyles.
