Regale us with your falsehoods,
astonish us with your lies.
Be nothing more than a sufferer,
pleading innocence with your cries.
Embellish the what were's and have beens,
turning them into tales of woe.
Feign tears of righteousness,
hands thrown to the heavens with misleading bravado.
Shouts rise in octaves,
intrigue, damnation, intolerance the claim.
Eyes flitting across the faces,
looking for momentary flickers of belief or disdain.
Words chiseling a path of destruction,
twisted falsities pour out from a depth.
Skin nothing more than a wrapping,
so within the darkness kept.
A body unadorned of wings,
within no Heaven resides.
A Godless soul so desolate,
any trace of virtue always defied.
