As with many people, since I came to this site I have posted pics of cool movies, interesting art and an old Halloween pic of me in a bat costume. However, I have been getting requests to see the "real" me. So I dug through the archives and discovered a perfect pic. In the above mentioned pic I am sitting in a Cracker Barrell at about 1 am after roaming around the Ohio State Fair and attending an awesome concert, namely Meat Loaf. In this pic I am exhausted, sweaty, no make up, hair in it's absolute natural state (thanks a bunch Mr. Humidity, lol) and getting impatient waiting on my waffles.
I always try to keep it as real as possible with the world, so I figured what better way to practice what I preach than to refrain from posting a photo shopped, airbrushed version of myself. so here it is..enjoy! :-)
The excitement and anticipation fills the air. all the kiddies are on pins and needles. The town almost, kinda sorta comes to what passes for life here. Yes, it's that magical time of year the rubes call The Mothman Festival! If you haven't heard of it, fear not, most of the world hasn't.
Apparently in the 1960's a creature that looked like bat/bug/man was seen in a local game preserve known locally as the TNT area because during WW1 it was the site of a munitions factory and weapon storage. According to the legend after he was seen a strange and catastophic chain of events hit the town, the most signicant of which was the collapse of a bridge in downtown that killed 47 people Decemer 15th, 1967.
The part of this whole thing that no one bothers to consider is that the Mothman was only seen by a handful of people, all of which were either severe alcohol abusers and/or dropping acid and smoking everything, but their shoes. (Remember, it was the 60's folks).
So, seeing as how the majority of this town's history is about as exciting as watching paint dry on a barn, the rubes have latched on to this idea for both excitement and potential tourist profit. Personally, I agree with a statement made by my grandfather (God rest his soul) to a reporter who asked him if he believed in the myth. His only reply was this, "A cheap bottle of wine and a good imagination, you can see most anything in these woods."

Well, here I am again after a very mundane day of all the things one must do to thrive and survive in rural suburbia hell. Bill paying, grocery shopping, cleaning & errands. Still ahead is the laundry & cooking dinner. I know it sounds so glamorous, but please don't envy me. :-)
I don't mean to whine, it just that once upon a time I had a wonderful life full of experiences, fun and frivolity. However, since moving back to this burned out burg 9 years ago it seems all I love about living is fading like a charcol sketch in the rain. It's not a matter of wondering if there is life out there, but more a matter of knowing it is and being cut off from it.
Some would ask me why I don't relocate. The answer is simple. Between family obligations and recovering from the financial apocolypse brought on by divorce it is simply not an option at this moment. I was travelling for a while, you know, taking a break from this god-forsaken town, but it seems that each time I leave and come back the situation just gets a little more hopeless.
So, for the moment, I do what many have done and do what I have to do, the whole time lying to myself saying it is what I want to do. Sometimes I wish I could just let go and become one of the mindless backwoods zombies that surround me, but there is just something in me that won't submit.
I just pray with all my heart that someday this will come to an end and I can be free to return to the city I truly love for good.

Just wanted to thank everyone who rated me and popped right up to say hello. Most sites like thiss it takes a few days before anyone notices you're even there, lol. This is kinda cool. A girl could get used to all this attention. I also added all of you so I hope to hear from you again. Gotta go clean. Will return at dusk...
First of all I would like to say thank you to all those who said hello and have already rated me. I just created my account and I am still learning the etiquette of the site, so to speak. I am sure to accidently offend someone, so, in advance, I apologize, lol. Any advice is welcome and don't be shy. Feel free to give me a shout. I can be a bit of a lone wolf, but I am not totally anti-social, yet. :-) See ya soon...
