UK did it... played a hell of a game hard with blows on both sides earning plenty of fouls. Ohio State is a great team and I have heard plenty of doubts expressed by Big Blue Fans today as to being able to beat them. I've had to keep thinking positive all day as I do think it matters and by golly this one was a nail biter with it being tied or within a shot either way most of the game.
On to North Carolina on Sunday one of our biggest rivals ever with UK being the first College basketball team with over 2000 wins and NC running second. Don't know what'll happen but we got our moneys worth tonight that's for sure!
Way to go Wildcats!
Yep if you hadn't guessed I'm part of that big blue nation and a happy UK basketball fan since childhood.
I cannot believe it's been so long since I wrote in here when it's one of my favorite things to do.
Biltmore House with Rat was simply wonderful and getting to spend some quality time alone with my friend was even better.
The wedding of birdy went great and having Puppy stay with me for the weekend was a dream as RedQueen is simply a damn nice lady and very funny too.
Took my nephew to his austim specialist for his bi-yearly checkup and they were thrilled with his progress and how good he's doing speaking and responding normally in conversation. We're working on the w questions with him (who what when where why) but also on trying to teach him to look at a person's face when he's speaking to them. Not sure if eye to eye contact will ever work out but if we can just get him to look at the person he's speaking to it'll be a big improvement. yes I know little battles are how the war is won. :)
My neice saw her therapist and she's very happy with her progress even if she still has many anger issues and other problems with her father but we'll keep on taking her to work on it because we don't want it to affect her life. The 3 years they've been apart have made such an influence in her, lots of friends, very active in school, good grades in the band and even in a contest band planning another 4 day trip to Tampa, last year it was St Louis and goddess help me the attitude of I'm 14 and know it all.. lol It's so strange how even a few hours around him can drag her back into a sullen anxious, silent and angry girl.
Birdy is going to be busy tonight so no girls night out but I'm cooking spagetti and going to drag Rat over for supper here and a movie she and my sister are both wanting to see.

I hope your niece is able to sort out her issues with anger, it can be very destructive if not kept in check.
Did you watch a movie?
Forgive me my friends for not celebrating St Patricks day as I used to enjoy but for my family this date has become a much sadder anniversary. I lost my Mom on 3/17 and while I know that one has nothing to do with the other it's still hard to laugh and joke when so many in my family still miss her so very much.
I find it strange sometimes as many many years before loosing Mom we learned on Valentine's day that my father was terminally ill with Cancer. He lived barely 3 more months in a great deal of pain before that terrible thief stole him from his family, he was only 52 years old.
A great many of my cousins still have both their parents even ones years older than me and at times it's very hard not to resent that fact. Why was my family the one to loose both parents first and one at such a relatively young age while others still get to have both of theirs? How's that for a selfish thought? But it's kinda hard not to feel that way sometimes when I'd give anything to be able to ask Mom or Dad for some advice or a hug.
Oddly enough since we lost Mom, 2 more sets of cousins from that same side of the family have lost both their parents. I admit to feeling guilty somewhat though I did nothing to cause it to happen not wishing for it or anything like that but seeing the pain I know so well on the face of my kin really sucks too.
So while many enjoy St Patrick's day and I wish them well I will not be enjoying it myself.

The Lord takes the best ones first.. Sorry for your losses. X
It was a very fun and exciting weekend with the wedding and Puppy being here and all the fun of our webcast sat night. *I'm still waiting for the hammer to fall over that whole thing* Reckon how long we'll be in trouble for drunken webcamming... well for me allowing drunken webcamming by Puppy and Rat while I just tried to keep the craziness to a minimum. lol Oh well if I lost ever bit of status I imagine I have on VR I'd still show up all the time cause I just plain have fun here. lol
Never try climbing to the top of the ladder if you're afraid of what's at the bottom, for you will surely end up back down there someday.
Sorry I didn't make it back on to post last night but got RedQueen to the airport in time and just fine then had lots of hugs to share and send on to other friends.
Fooled around a bit in Lexington then took my sister to her doctor apt wherein she learned there was no damage done to her previous cervical surgery the pins and bones were still in place and the lower back pain is arthritis and she'll just have to live with the pain. That's just life I guess so we drove slowly home in the pouring rain and then ended up falling into bed really early. Tired didn't even begin to cover it.
Last night was great, the wedding went off with just enough hitches to be funny and none that really bothered the bride ;) Then Puppy, Rat and I went to a local mexican resturant where food and a whole lot more drink was served. lol Rat got brave and tried something the waiter suggested that not even Puppy was going to drink and all I can say is I'm really glad the police barracks was across the road because I took VW's keys and moved her car over there and then went in and cleared it with them leaving it there for a day or so. Then I walked back across 5 lanes of highway and caught them trying to figure out to get in my car which were happily tucked into my own pocket. lol
Anyway we headed to my house where we started the webcam broadcast only a couple of hours later than we thought we'd be doing it but a bunch of good friends were around and joined us for about 3 hours of mayhem and madness with Puppy having a nice buzz for a bit and Rat being totally wasted which was so funny as she focused on a live lemon and got crazy with it.. lol Honest you had to be there!
Hopefully we did nothing that will come back and haunt us later on well I was sober and know what happened but I'm going to enjoy watching everyone else figure it out. :)

Hey chick I was there too and who said you were sober?you were just as funny as they were, now We went to bed when the molestation of the lemon started so how far did she go with it and is there perhaps gonna be any baby lemons on the way? OB wants to know if she molested any gully trolls and how many glen folk are we gonna find walking bowlegged from trying to pull lemons out of there butts?
She skinned the lemon! She even pierced it!
I laughed so hard I thought I was going to choke or stop breathing, lol.
You gals are awesome.
:o)
Had a great time hanging with you guys on the cam. Hope that lemon was thrown out, lol.
*shakes fist* I keep missing them!
It's here Birdie is getting hitched later and we're all holding our breaths it goes great!!!! With snow here just the day before yesterday then sun but cool yesterday hopefully today will be awesome weather.
If everything goes as planned tonight VW39, RedQueen and myself will try and do a webcam broadcast so come one, come all and let's try and have some fun.

Oh it was a tough game. I was jumping up and down, yelling curse words, and in general freaking out. But we did it. We beat the number one overall team in college basketball. It was no small feat, and I am sure tons of brackets are now defunct.
Oh it will be quite a game come Sunday- I can't wait!
