Soul Mate
A soul mate is one that you have pre-chosen to work with to help create experiences for the other that will produce soul growth and realization. Many times they are a mirror that you need to help evolve and awaken your soul. You may be very attracted to them, yet there may be something about them that creates an aversion that you just don't fully comprehend. Things they do are either wonderful or they really bother you. Many are searching for soul mates at this time to marry, because they think of them as as being perfect mates. If you believe this to be true then I hope you are ready to be unconditional love, because they are here to teach you how to truly love yourself and to be the love that you are which is a pretty wonderful gift if you ask me, but you don't have to marry them to receive the gift.
They are re-mirroring what lessons you still need to learn. You may have hundreds of soul mates that are on earth at this time. You will meet more than one in each life time. When you have lessons to learn or karmic patterns to clear Mr./Ms. Wonderful can very quickly become Mr./Ms. Awful. Usually it is your own need to heal something from your past that has become the problem. Soul mates come into your life to help you to discover what a wonderful and amazing person you truly are. That is their gift! (It may take a while for you to see this truth, but they are quite a blessing in disguise.) They will help you to reflect within and get you to really take a look at yourself and who you are being. You will question yourself after some tough confrontations and ask yourself, is this really who I am?
There are also other soul connections including twin mates, divine expressions and divine complements. The last two really are very similar to soul mates in the fact that they are there to make you take a look at yourself and hopefully get you to evolve, but they are not ones you would usually choose as a mate. They make huge impressions on your life and then move on after they help you to complete a lesson.
Twin mates work together in service to God. They are paired off into groups of 144 and are not usually attracted to one another. Their connection is on a friendship/business level and stays there. Usually one or more of your family members are twin mates, as well as a few class mates that you really have bonded with. Playmates and working mates that appear on the scene and really help boost you to move forward in life are from your twin mate grouping. They feel like a brother or sister you have always desired to have. You both work well together and usually get along with each other quite well. The friendship feels comfortable and trustworthy.
Twin Soul
Twin souls are cut from the same mold and usually have very similar goals. As in all soul connections, some are original essences and some are aspects of the same being or same soul family. Twin souls are created from the same flame and are of the same polar end. At this level of creation the polar ends act like scientists believe is true here within physical form. (The proton is male and the electron is female.) They have many of the same soul memories, though each being has had different lives. Twin souls usually have married each other while having other soul experiences, known as other life times. Nearly all souls when embodied as humans have experienced being both male and female and have soul memories of these life times within their DNA and RNA . So when a soul connection is found there is a familiarity with the person's essence. Sometimes there is an attraction to the essence of the person even though there may be little or no physical attraction. Twin souls work very well together, as long as envy and jealousy do not get involved in the relationship.
Twin Sister/ Brother Soul
Twin sister/ brother soul is similar to the twin soul above. One who was created at the same time as you were upon this planet with similar light codes, inner feelings and thought. Really it is like identical personalities, but since incarnating you have had varied experiences and ways of perceiving what you thought took place. You are experiencing in different bodies with separate concepts and individuality, yet your encodings are very similar and interests should be relative to each other. A very close bond is possible and feeling of close affinity to each other. You can be of great comfort and understanding to one another. You are not created of the same star, it is just the personality level is created from the same beingness and in this there will be similarities in likes and looks of the body formed throughout many incarnations that take place. About one half of all incarnations you would pass as sisters or brothers and sometimes even as identical twins two percent of the time.
Twin Flame
As twin flames you are brought within an experience together to work side by side for the betterment of a planet or solar system. Many times the elements that were used to create a universe or planet were originally created from your essences. By this joining you are now intertwined; the meeting of two light beams that now shine as one. You have known each other for eons and worked together on many levels. Together you have created many offspring and loved on many levels of creation. When you are together it is best to both be aware of what you are creating because it has lasting effects on the world around you. There may be as many as twelve of these connections existing, usually no more than seven. Some light beings that are incarnate have from one to six twin flames here in form at this time.
Most humans do not have a twin flame here; they are working within higher dimensions or living on other planets at this time. Most of you have a twin flame waiting for you on the other side. Working with you like a guardian angel does, helping you to accomplish your highest goals. Helping you to fulfill God's will for you and for the planet you live upon is the only reason you would be rejoined on earth. Note: If both of you are not willing to serve together, you will part from each other.
Twin Flames usually have instant attractions, as do many twin souls but, when fears becomes involved, the one in fear will choose to separate. One has to stay within the 5th and 6th dimension or higher to remain connected with a twin flame or twin soul. You could be in each others lives without knowing this connection exists and be experiencing 3rd and 4th dimensions, but to have the knowing and mutual experience of the love truly felt between you, both of your vibrations and awareness must match that of vibrations that are higher than 5th dimension.
Twin Ray
A twin ray is of the same God spark that you are from, the one complete half of yourself. Eons ago, for the experience of duality, each one of us split into two separate spheres of light: one male and one female. Each one a divine compliment to the other. As we descended slowly into the world of duality to experience time and space we eventually chose different directions and varied creational experiences. All eventually took on different sequences of light patterns and began creating soul families. Families of spirit are now moving throughout creation on many dimensions and within different levels of creation. God's creation is much vaster than what you can see with your physical eyes. We are miniscule in proportion to all that has been created.
Right now enlightened and ascended master twin rays are working towards completing their final soul tests and the ascension processes that will rejoin them with their twin ray. Many have been reaching towards the dimension their twin ray is upon. Other soul connections are being involved in their lives to jolt them into a more awakened state, trying to help raise the connection to God-self up so that the divine union between the male and female God-self becomes possible. Right now there are connections like these being made, but it is much rarer than twin flame and twin soul connections. One would have to raise above the 5th and 6th dimension in order to begin reuniting with a twin ray.
An Eternal Flame
Eternal flames are one and the same. One light spark, one created male (electron), one female (protron): a holy union, one holy being. One who created all that you are seeing and experiencing. The Eternal Flame is the first Atom of creation. The first thought, desire, sound, fission and light beam, together creating all that is experienced in holographical form and all that dreams are made of. Eternal Flames live the Adamic Dream. This connection is very rare, there are only four original essences that carry this energy and like the Twin Ray reunion one must fully awaken and be living the Will of God. Both partners must live in the presence of God as the love that they are in order to re-unite and to stay united.
The twin ray connection is very much the same reunion experience as that of the Eternal Flame. This is being reunited with your full God Presence, both male and female essences reunited. This is the highest state of oneness and wholeness available for all of God's children to experience. Twin Rays are aspects of the original Eternal Flame essences and of the Son. They are the Holy Trinity and at the same time are created by the Holy Trinity. These aspects have become known as the God Self.
Reunion in spiritual form with the other half of one's true Godly Origin is only possible when one reaches the level of ascension that reunites them with their God Self. This can be experienced while in physical form if both beings are interconnected on high enough levels with their Holy Spirit which then enables them to recognize and to experience the connection of origin. Essence is spirit long before matter existed. We existed as God (male & female), then as the Son, we then became the Holy Spirit (Sons and Daughters of Christ) which together created the holy trinity). From then on the one in three and the three in one created through themselves new energy and essence forms.
We then get into creation which is quite a story. That could take millions of years to explain. One of the stories starts where The Three created The Powers of Nine. The Nine created nine equaling eighty one. Seventy two became the Tree of Life and the other nine stayed in essence form as the Free Spirits that council between God and the other God Self power essences. This is where our story of creation begins. The variations of the story are endless as are your experiences as essence, spirit and soul. You have had experiences as all kinds of heavenly bodies. Starting as stars, then as etheric spiritual embodiments, angels, ET's and now as terrestrial beings- spiritual beings having physical experiences on planets created of our own star essences and from the love of God. Many of us are awakening to the fact that we really are Hu-man or at least that we are capable of evolving into this higher spiritually aware species of mankind that helps God create Heaven on Earth.
When creation began, the first creation was the Holy Spirit of Love, today called Divine Consciousness or Christ Consciousness. The Beingness of this divine state re-created Father/ Mother God, because before giving birth to Divine Love they existed only as a female (proton) and male (electron) energy essence. This was the creation of the first atom that existed as the electron, proton and neutron which stands for divine wisdom, divine love and divine consciousness which is The Son. This is the reason Jesus has been called the first born of God and the essence of God at the same time. He was the full presence of living Christ Consciousness in a human body and at the same time was the full essence of the Father (wisdom) and the Mother (unconditional love). There have been a few Beings who have carried the Christ Energy here on Earth. Jesus just happens to have been made the most famous during our times. Right now there are more than 10,000 people carrying Christed energy within them. The Christ Mind is something that is available to all humans; it is our birthright as Children of God. Once the light centers within are awakened the Christ Light begins to shine forth.
When carrying the Christ Energy within we also become fully aware of our connection to Father/Mother God and are able to also teach mankind the truth of the heavens and know that every creation has the same essence within it to grow into a true conscious Son/ Daughter of God. This is why Jesus said you can only come to the Father through Me. He was saying that you can only come to the Father through Unconditional Love and Christ Consciousness because then you ascend as a Son or Daughter of God.
*
It is not so important that you be with or marry any of the above mentioned soul connections. The most important connection is for you to connect to the memory of the love that you are and to shine the light of your true heart where ever you may go. When you do this; loving yourself, God, and all others, you will attract a true soul connection. If you awaken to re-membering, you will know if you have met or attracted to you one of these soul connections. I have met many since my awakening.
I wrote this in hopes of bringing some clarity and understanding of our soul connections. Much of this I learned from God as I wrote here. I hope this knowledge helps mankind in gaining some more understanding. Until you begin to re-create the reality of unconditional love, this knowledge will not have much meaning to you.
When you are ready to begin remembering your soul connections you will have begun to love yourself, love others as your self and love God with all of your heart, mind, body and soul. This is re-membering. This is how you attract higher vibrational experiences; bring peace to your heart and how you begin the path towards ascension.
The greatest truth is that we are all interconnected and each and every one of us is created from a spark of light that was created from the bliss and the ecstasy of two hearts joined as one. Each particle of the vast light we know as God is one part male and one part female. You are a God spark that came from the loving embrace of Father/Mother God and some where out there in God's vast creation is one complete half of who you are.
Witches; Beyond Samhain
Author: Lady Abigail
Witches have always held a mystery and knowledge. For thousands of years, Witches have haunted the imagination of the human mind. Feared and hated, the Witch has been trampled down from a place of light and honor to a place of shadows and darkness. The theories on why this occurred range from a cultural fear of women in power to the dehumanization of women.
Over the years, the term Witch has gone through a strange transformation. Once held in honor and respect, now it is feared and despised. Once envisioned as a strong attractive woman, now depicted as a frail and hideous old crone.
I am a Witch. It was not something I got up one morning and decided to be. It is a simple statement of fact. I don't believe any of us make a decision one day to turn our life's upside down, cause our families to question our 'real' motives or desire to have people judge us as somehow less than they are.
In talking to countless Witches, I have heard them express not that they have found the craft or become a Witch, but rather, that they have returned to something they had always felt deep inside themselves. Once they read that first article or book, they realized that an important part of who they were had been missing. They experience what is explained as 'a return to self'. It is not something new, but rather a part that had been absent from their lives.
There will always be those people that pass through our lives who cannot accept that we are Witches. That it is not a costume we put on once a year, so we can dress up in pointy black hats. It goes way beyond our traditions of Samhain.
Most of us have heard the strange puzzlement in someone's voice when they ask us, "Are you a real Witch?" They seem curiously surprised when we answer, YES.
For some people, it is because they cannot believe in anything like Magick. Nor can they accept those called Witches who proudly practice it. Some are afraid. They live in fear of anything they cannot, or will not, understand. Others cannot get past the fears and prejudice taught to them in childhood, that it was a transgression to even talk to anyone that believed differently than they did. Unfortunately in life, we also run across those few who are so narrow mindedly intolerant and who oppose any belief that differs from their own.
So what happened? When did the pride in our personal beliefs and faith become something others assume we should somehow be ashamed of? When did the title Witch become a brand of dishonor? What makes this title hold any less respect than those within any other religion?
Witches, by word or deed, have been a part of civilization for as long as time has been time. As High Priestesses of the Old Religions and the Old Ways, they were called the Wise Women and held in reverence, for they were the healers, the keepers of wisdom, the teachers, the midwives and the councilors. They were skilled in the knowledge of the earth, the universe and the arts of Magick.
Once the religion of the Old Ways and the Goddess were held above all others. Those who practiced the Old Religion of the Goddess understood that She was the Supreme Deity, the Creator of all life.
Goddess worship can be dated back more that thirty thousand years. Many anthropologists suggest that the first "God" or pantheon was in fact, feminine. During this early time, there was no suggestion of creation involving any part of the male principle. The Goddess was believed to have created the universe alone. She was the All.
In worship, women were known to hold the highest place of honor within these religions and were often the ones overseeing the rituals. Regardless of the fact, the women of these societies never appear the need to place themselves as superior over their male counterparts.
Generally those whom practiced Goddess worship found a balance in the honoring of both the male and female deities. This is demonstrated by the belief in, and the observance of, the sacred joining of the Sky God and Earth Mother in many societies worldwide.
Throughout the centuries of history, the Goddess assumed many aspects. She was seen as the creator, virgin, mother, destroyer, warrior, huntress, homemaker, wife, artist, judge, healer, sorcerer and Witch. Her roles and abilities always increased with the advancement of the societies that worshipped her.
Within history, She is found represented as a queen with a consort, or lover, the mother who bears a son who may then die young or be sacrificed only to rise again, representing the annual birth-death-rebirth cycle of life within the turning of the great wheel.
Through the ages, the Goddess has been given a thousand names and a difference face for each. She is associated with the sun and moon and the earth and the sky. Yet, she is almost always represented by nature. Those worshipping the Goddess worship or care for nature. This caring for all life, creature and plant, is why Goddess worship is a religion of nature often described as a "Nature Religion."
So what happened? Goddesses were turned into evil women seeking to ravage mankind. Priestesses, become wicked seductresses, and a Witch, could be any woman (or man) once held in honor or power.
What brought about this transformation? From the once honored wise woman and healer to a feared detestable creature who desires only to destroy goodness and bring about wickedness? Why did she become so reviled by those of the new religion?
It is believed that as the Christian religion grew and moved across the lands, the leaders found it hard to convert those of the old ways. At first they tried to ease the people into this new faith by adapting some of the ancient ways. They incorporated many aspects of the rituals of the Pagan Gods into their own traditions.
To complete this transformation from the old ways, they built their churches on ancient Pagan sites. They changed many of the Pagan festivals into Christian holidays. Yule, the Birth of the Sun God, became Christmas. Samhain became the Eve of All Souls Day (Hallows' Eve or Halloween). The Spring Renewal festival (Ostara) became Easter, and so on throughout the Pagan calendar. Even the 'Gods' and natural spirits were made into Saints who could be worshipped according to the Christian faith.
Yet this so-called tolerance for the old ways would quickly end. Any who continued to worship the old ways would be cruelly persecuted. The church declared all Gods except "their god" to be evil, renaming them as demons led by the Horned One. The very image of the old Pagan Horned God now became the Devil and therefore all those who followed the old ways became heretics and evil Devil-worshippers.
Subsequently, even the Goddess, honored above all Gods, was to suffer humiliation. She would be changed within the biblical account of creation stories into a human, Eve. Being made of man, she no longer had the power to stand alone. She was now depicted as weak, easily turned from god, filled with lustful desires and without control of even her on body.
Then in the attempt to complete the destruction, they tried to destroy even Her symbolism. The serpent once representing control of sexuality, knowledge and strength, now becomes the slithering seducer tempting Eve with an apple. The apple, another symbol of the Goddess, became the fruit of carnal sin. Both became malevolence symbols to mark the weakness and evil embodiment of all women.
Then as history shows, the wise women now called, Witches, became the personification of all that was evil within the world. It was believed that they not only turned away from god, but they signed blood oaths with the devil, the god of evil.
So whatever bad thing happened in life could now be blamed on the Witch. Pestilence, disease, death, plague, or famine, it must be a Witch. If the weather became too much, be it rain or sun, it must be a curse. A Witch. A child's death was no longer the act of nature, but and act of evil. A Witch.
Even with the healing of sickness, when the priest prayers could not heal, then it must be Witchcraft. If someone was healed outside the church, it was of evil doing and must be of a Witch. Even those who became well were accused of giving bidding to the Witch to be healed and therefore must give up the name of the healer or die in the Witches stead.
With the publication of the "Malleus Maleficarum" (The Witches' Hammer) around 1490 CE, anything from a mole to the glance of an eye could condemn one to death for being a Witch. Of course, ownership of property could also have someone accused of being a Witch. In the majority of cases, it was not being a Witch or Witchcraft that these unfortunate souls were guilty of, but a far worse crime, one that people still condemn others for today. that of being different.
Even today, in this world we consider modern, we are not so advanced to be free of the dangers that overcame those in our past. Most of us have seen hatred in our lifetimes. Not just the pain and injustice toward those of another race, but the fear bred from hate -- the kind of loathing that seeks out those that are different, condemns them without reason and then boast that it was for some right and just cause.
The truth of their motivation is not righteous, but man-made. It is used to inflict a personal punishment according to a private agenda, not justice. In this way, hate and fear are carefully concealed within what is 'called' right according to the morals of the majority. A majority, not in number, but in those who make themselves heard by the cruelty they force on others.
Autumn illuminates the land with colors blazing from the hillsides. It was this time of year that my Great Grandmother would remind me of all those who had given up their lives in our journey to humanity.
The journey is not over; we must keep going forward. There are still mountains to climb, rivers to cross and even a few valleys to rest in for a while. Yet we must keep going, and we will get there in time, to the humanity we seek.
It is up to us. Perhaps we will grow from what we learn. Then, I believe we are to share, to teach and to help others somewhere in our future.
People can be cruel and filled with hate. But most of the time, it is because they are afraid to hear anything that is outside what they believe is acceptable or normal. In time, they may accept what we have to offer. Or they may not.
This places the responsibility for teaching upon us, those whom they fear, in order that we may show the world --once again -- who we are. We are the ones who will have to be long-suffering.
We will be the teachers and in time, Goddess willing, they will see the truth before them.
"If the Witch-hunters (whatever century) had been placed under a spell, it would be no hex, but rather their own fears."
May we remember the past to enhance the future. With blessing and peace.
Heeding the Call of the Magickal Life

What do you hope to get out of a magickal way of life? What led you here and what will it mean to be a magickal person in the decades to come? In the Age of Aquarius, I would say that it means for us to be living our beliefs fully and immerse ourselves into a magickal mindset and into fuller, more fruitful living.
What draws you to the magickal path? Is it fantasy, wishful thinking? Is it about hoping for a better way and seeking that which you do not have? For me, I took to the path because I was led toward the magickal life by a sense of necessity. I had an undeniable urge to explain my relationships with the fairies, oracular dreams, my relationships with plants and stones and places. I felt as if future destiny was knocking in the August afternoon sunlight, in the boughs of my favorite tree, and the midnight light of the full moon. I opened the door, and found my home.
At my tradition's annual retreat a couple years ago, I had another year of peering into the cauldron, only to see visions of bombs and blood and death, I look no more for suffering. There is no use in fixating on the trials and tears of life. Instead, I reach for the glimmering hope of what I can help bring into this world to make it a better place. Last year, I looked around me and above me. People became glowing stars, circling to their own dances and rhythms in the colliding parallel universes in time and space. For as Crowley said, "Every Man and Woman is a Star"1
Folks in my tradition are fond of saying that at this turn in the Ages into the Aquarian age, that we live in interesting times (in the Chinese curse sort of way) .2 In interesting times, an individual person has much more impact and there are more ways in which to make a difference.
During the dark time of the year, a single candle in the darkness makes a much greater impact. It is easy to get down on ourselves and become discouraged when times are tough. Despairing like this though makes it easy to throw up one's hands with a big "I can't". Complacency is of now use. I ask myself, "What did I do today that made a difference" "How did I make headway, however small, toward progress?" My favorite home organizer, The Fly Lady, loves to say "Progress, not perfection!"3 How true is this axiom?
Perfectionism is a fallacy. It is a part of the religious thought that exhorts us to throw off pleasures of the flesh and our Worldly nature and seek the perfection of the divine through transcendence. Yet, in a Pagan viewpoint, the Divine is immanent and the World is our Kingdom. We are imperfect not through fault of our own, but the design of our limited perspective. This is not something to feel guilt or embarrassment over! Our imperfect nature means that we should never expect to know it all, or be above having accidents or making mistakes. We will never be perfect and shouldn't be disappointed when we cannot reach perfection. This is liberation of what the pagan path offers us!
The unseen worlds exist around us whether we can ascertain their nature or not. The more we know of energy, magick, people, energetic health, the spirit worlds, and how we fit into the big picture the more effective we can be in our lives. In this way, we can thrive. Therefore, "being a star" is not just a pleasant saying, but can be used as an active paradigm in your life. Do you burn as the core generator in your life or do you pretend you are a comet, cold and burning at an obtuse angle to the rest of creation? Do you work with your Universe or ignore the laws of physics? For, as Aristotle wrote, his treatise called Metaphysics4 was not something separate from the study of physics but just his next work after his other work dubbed Physics for metaphysics literally means "after physics"!
So what can you do to make a difference and be the solar center of your World?
Meditation, developing psychic and energetic skills
Daily practice, just like physical exercise, quieting the mind, practicing visualization skills, prayer, and doing energy cleansing and exercises daily helps us strengthen our psychic skills, our energetic resiliency, and our capacity for doing magick both in ritual and in our daily lives.5
Taking care of yourself
Our bodies are our temples. If there were one truth of divine immanence, the aforementioned would be it. It's also one of the hardest things to do. Keeping up with a proper diet, exercise, listening to your body's wisdom, doctor visits, it all takes a lot of attention and diligence. I find that when I exercise, my energy, mental focus, even healthy food cravings repay me in spades for the rest of the day. On the other hand when we don't reeve up the engines in the morning and don't fuel ourselves properly, we cannot work optimally. This goes for the higher planes and subtle bodies too! You have to start at the bottom and work your way up. The root of our existence in this world IS our physical form. The better it functions the better you can function.
Devotion to the Gods
Prayer, and more importantly listening and opening to the Divine is another great way to connect to the whole and add some magick into your life. One difference I really enjoy about praying to Pagan Gods is I spend a lot less time talking and a lot more time listening. The more we devote to the Gods, the stronger they become as they are fed by our thoughts and energy. We pay homage to them by doing their works in the world and their influence, in this way, is also felt in the world. They are more willing to come to our aid the stronger our connection with them is as well.
Helping others (people, spirits, the environment, etc)
This one is simple. Everything you come in contact with in the universe you are interacting with. You have decisions to make about how you affect people and things around you. In the craft, we learn that we are responsible for everything we do. You are making choices whether or act or not. Do you want to act as if you can affect things to the good and make the world a better place? You in fact can make quite the long-term difference if you do little things all the time. It's amazing what a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and attention to people in your environment will do.
Being tolerant and compassionate
Everyone has bad days. Just think about how easily it was to despair or become cranky and irritable the last time you were sick. People suffering from illness battle this all the time. It's our responsibility to decide how we react to others and how we speak and treat people. This idea expands to those who had abusive upbringings, suffer from addictions of all sorts, and may be in horribly trying situations in their lives now. You don't know the whole story. You can choose to not make it worse. Don't buy into others bad behavior. You're the solar center of your universe, remember? You have more sovereignty than that.
Practicing magick and living life as a magickal act
Even with activities, like my job that aren't exactly the cat's meow, I ask myself, "How can I be consciously aware? What can I learn from this"? People who know me marvel that I am willing to do the incredibly tedious and minute tasks for 8 hours a day while I'm at work. I look at it as a challenge for mental focus and discipline. Hey, if I can scour legal language all day and plug it into a spread sheet for hours straight, I'm more likely to be able to not be distracted while in an intense ritual. It's easy to pay attention to things you enjoy, even if they are strenuous. I pay attention to the sky and weather and animals I see on my drive to work. I watch the colors and smells and consistency of my food when I cook and eat. I really try to connect with people in my life and listen and understand them. In this way, everything we come in contact with gives us the opportunity to be spiritual beings and have magickal acts every moment of our lives.
With opened eyes to the subtle realms there is no turning back. Fantasy no more, now the world of dreams and visions is all too real. I am a Star in the center of my universe, powering and fueling all of the life and movement around me. I am in the Kingdom already, crowned a Star. In this way, I am divine. In this way I choose hope, and progress, and life. I seek to make a difference, however small, every day to come more into balance and into harmony with my life's purpose and the natural order of All things.

Do the dead greet the dying?
By David Kessler, Oprah.com
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
It's common for the dying to have visions, often of someone who is
already dead
The visions that people experience at the end of life are extremely
similar
Visions tend to occur hours to weeks before death
There's no point in telling a dying relative you think he or she is
hallucinating
(OPRAH.com) -- Throughout my years of working with the dying and the
bereaved, I have noticed commonly shared experiences that remain
beyond our ability to explain and fully understand. The first are
visions.
As the dying see less of this world, some people appear to begin
looking into the world to come. It's not unusual for the dying to have
visions, often of someone who has already passed on. Your loved one
may tell you that his deceased father visited him last night, or your
loved one might speak to his mom as if she were there in the room at
that time.
It was almost 15 years ago that I was sitting at the bedside of my
teacher, Elisabeth Kübler Ross, when she turned to me and asked, "What
do you think about the deceased visiting those on their deathbeds to
greet them?"
I replied quickly, showing my knowledge back to her: "You're speaking
of deathbed visions, most likely caused by a lack of oxygen to the
brain or a side effect of morphine."
She looked at me and sighed, "It will come with maturity."
Oprah.com: 4 healthy ways to grieve
I thought to myself: "Maturity? What did maturity have to do with
anything?" Now, years later, I look at the events we still can't
explain that happen at the end of life and realize what Elisabeth was
saying.
It would be arrogant to think we can explain everything, especially
when it comes to dying. My mother died when I was still a preteen. My
father remained an incredible optimist his whole life, even when he
was dying. I was busy trying to make sure he was comfortable and pain-
free, and at first didn't notice he had become very sad.
He told me how much he was going to miss me once he was gone. And then
he mentioned how much he was saying goodbye to: his loved ones, his
favorite foods, the sky, the outdoors and a million other things of
this world. He was overcome by sadness I could not (and would not)
take away from him.
My father was very down-hearted for the next few days. But then one
morning he told me my mother, his wife, had come to him the night
before.
"David, she was here for me," he said with an excitement I had not
seen in him in years. "I was looking at all I was losing, and I'd
forgotten that I was going to be with her again. I'm going to see her
soon." He looked at me as he realized I would still remain here. Then
he added, "We'll be there waiting for you."
Over the next two days, his demeanor changed dramatically. He had gone
from a hopeless dying man with only death in front of him to a hopeful
man who was going to be reunited with the love of his life. My father
lived with hope and also died with it.
Oprah.com: Why birth is not a beginning and death is not an end
When I started compiling examples to include in my book, "Visions,
Trips and Crowded Rooms: Who and What You See Before You Die," I was
surprised by how similar they were. In fact, it was hard to pick which
ones to use because they were all so much alike.
Now I realize the very thing that makes them repetitious is also what
makes them unique. As someone who has spent most of my life writing,
teaching and working with the dying, I can't prove to you that my
father's vision was real. I can only talk about my experience as a son
and about countless other occurrences that take place every day.
I used to believe the only thing we needed to alleviate was the
suffering of the dying by providing good pain management and symptom
control. I know now that we have more -- we have the "who" and "what"
we see before we die, which is perhaps the greatest comfort to the
dying.
Some interesting and unexplainable items about deathbed visions:
• Visions people experience at the end of life are remarkably similar.
• The dying are most often visited by their mothers. It shouldn't be
too surprising that the person who is actually present as we cross the
threshold of life and take our first breaths once again appears at the
threshold as we take our last breaths.
• Hands passionately reaching upward to some unseen force is witnessed
in many deathbed encounters.
• Visions mostly occur toward a corner of the room.
• Those family members at a deathbed are not able to see the vision or
participate in the conversation.
• Visions usually occur hours to weeks before death.
• Visions don't seem to appear in other frightening situations where
death is not likely, such as stuck in an elevator, lost in a foreign
city or lost hiking.
• Unlike traditional health care, the law treats a dying person's last
words as the truth.
Oprah.com: Using technology to get through tough times
If you find the concept of a dead loved one greeting you on your
deathbed impossible or ridiculous, consider what I finally realized as
a parent: You protect your children from household dangers. You hold
their hands when they cross the street on their first day of school.
You take care of them when they have the flu, and you see them through
as many milestones as you can.
Now fast-forward 70 years after you, yourself, have passed away. What
if there really is an afterlife and you receive a message that your
son or daughter will be dying soon? If you were allowed to go to your
child, wouldn't you?
While death may look like a loss to the living, the last hours of a
dying person may very well be filled with fullness rather than
emptiness. Sometimes all we can do is embrace the unknown and
unexplainable and make our loved ones feel good about their experiences.
Possible Responses and Tips
• There's really no point in telling your dying father you think he's
hallucinating or that his mom has been dead for several years and
can't possibly be there.
• Instead of disagreeing, try asking him, "What is your mom saying?"
• Say, "Tell me more about your vision." Perhaps Aunt Betty is telling
your father that it's okay to die or maybe they're reminiscing about
growing up together.
• Say, "It's great that Aunt Betty is here with you," or "I knew that
Mother would come to meet you," or "I'm so glad that Mom is with you
now."
• Denying their reality will only separate you from your loved one. So
join and explore this profound time of life.
The saying goes, "We come into this world alone, and we leave alone."
We've been brought up to believe that dying is a lonely, solitary
event. But what if everything we know isn't true? What if the long
road that you thought you'll eventually have to walk alone has unseen
companions?
I would welcome those of you who have had an experience of your dying
loved ones being comforted by those already deceased to share these
stories here with others. In sharing our stories, we will see that the
journey at the end of life is not a lonely path into eternity.
Rather, it may be an incredible reunion with those we have loved and
lost. It reminds us that God exists and birth is his miracle that
carries us into life. A deathbed vision is his miracle that carries us
though the transition of death into the next part of our eternity.

Moment of Silence in Honor of Lost Witches
On the Eve of Samhain, at 19:00 hours (7 p.m.), please take a moment of silence in honor of the 19 innocent lives lost and the hundreds of lives uprooted because of the hateful and judging hands of the Salem, Massechusetts Puritan justice system in 1692.
A QUICK CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS RELATED TO THE SALEM WITCH TRIALS:

The reason the cake is fed to a dog is because the dog is believed a "familiar" of the Devil.

February 29, 1692: Arrest warrants are issued for Tituba, Sarah Good and Sarah Osborne.

Brief History of Welsh Faerie Witchcraft in America
It started in the 60's...
1965 In June of 1965, Rhuddlwm, an American working in Europe, meets Sarah Llewellyn, a Welsh Witch on holiday, on the Isle of Majorca off the coast of Spain. From that meeting comes an instant spiritual connection. (Robert Graves, who wrote The White Goddess, spent the last year of his life about 2 miles from their meeting-place.)
1966 Rhuddlwm is initiated into the Welsh Tribe of Dynion Mwyn, "The Gentle Folk", near Betws-y-Coedd, in North Wales. This is a family of Witches that claim a lineage from 1282 A.D. and Prince Llewellyn of Wales. Thus begins the first step on Rhuddlwm's journey to awakening. He is given the name Rhuddlwm Gawr by the elders of that tradition, and told that he is to return to the United States and begin secretly to teach the Craft of - Y Tylwyth Teg - the Clan of "The Fairy Folk".
Later, he writes that he feels unprepared and unwilling to teach, but after returning to the United States, he joins a major Aerospace company in Landover, Maryland. He is immediately transferred to Houston, Texas and assigned to NASA's Apollo Manned Lunar Project. He tries to ignore the elders words but soon finds himself teaching an introductory class in Witchcraft in a small Houston bookstore.
1967 In March of 1967, Rhuddlwm is transferred to Washington, DC, where he establishes the first Coven of Y Tylwyth Teg in the U.S. There is an enthusiastic response by many seekers and students in the area who were hungry for any kind of Earth-oriented spiritual teaching. He initiates Lady Dana who becomes his first High Priestess. Later, the "Coven of Y Tylwyth Teg" expands into a much larger organization - "The Church of Y Tylwyth Teg in America." Y Tylwyth Teg's first coven brings together Wiccans and Pagans from several traditions, including solitaires and traditional Welsh Celtic Pagans. Y Tylwyth Teg presents its first Spring Festival "The Gathering of the Tribes" (the first Pagan Gathering of the Tribes recorded) and its first Midsummer celebration "The Battle of the Winter and Summer Kings" presided over by Lord Rhuddlwm and Lady Dana. Y Tylwyth Teg begins to grow and establish sister covens in Florida, Texas, California and Georgia. During a trip to Bermuda, Rhuddlwm rendezvous with Sarah and is initiated to higher levels of responsibility. In late November of 1967, Rhuddlwm is instrumental in founding "The Association of Cymry Wiccae" as an assembly of Welsh Traditional Covens in America.
1968 Y Tylwyth Teg establishes a worship site on private land near Landover Maryland. A ritual circle is created and dedicated in a grove of oak trees near the main house. Rhuddlwm, with the help of several Witch leaders of Welsh heritage, organizes the first annual Conclave meeting held in Spring 1968 at the Gathering of the Tribes. During this first meeting, many speak of the "primal energy" that is generated, and the love that seems to permeate everything. As a result of this meeting, a "conclave" of three Welsh Witchcraft covens is born. This conclave was thereafter referred to as the "The Grove of The Crystal Dragon." It consists of "The Coven of The Crystal Dragon", "The Coven of Merlin" and "The Coven of Ganymede."
Sharing a common vision of the ancient gods and the survival of the Dynion Mwyn Pagan religion, it is agreed that because of the current uncertainties of the day, The Association is to keep a low profile and operate in secret for as long as possible. The three groups work together over the next two years quietly disseminating knowledge and information when needed. In the Fall, Y Tylwyth Teg begins sponsoring private classes and lectures in Alexandria, Virginia.
1969 Y Tylwyth Teg through one of it's members, Beverly Sailer (Lady Arionrod), forms an outer court pagan group known as "The Family". Due to several members being influential government employees, the members vote to keep the true purpose of "The Family" a secret. The second annual Conclave and pagan outer-court festival at the Gathering of the Tribes, is held in a forest near Cumberland, Maryland.
----------------------------------------------------------
And continued in the 70's...
1970 "The Family" membership reaches thirty-two. The third annual Conclave, fourth annual Gathering of the Tribes, and Pagan outer court festival is held on the eastern shore of Maryland.

1975 Until October of 1975, the Church and Association grows very slowly and deliberately. During the Samhain ritual, one of our elders receives a spiritual insight which changed his life forever. He sees figures of a Woman and a man merge within an Oak tree. It is explained to him by his spiritual guides and his teacher Sarah, that this means that his future task is to help relink humanity with Nature. The Association adopts the Goddess Cerridwen as its muse, and begins working to disseminate the concept of re-linking with Nature. Shortly thereafter, one of the original founders of the Association (Coven of Ganymede) leaves the group. The two remaining founders spend the Fall redefining their roles within the Association. Lady Branwen becomes vice president of The Association. During this time the energy toward manifestation quickens as the number of member covens grow from the original three to twenty-three. Y Tylwyth Teg's public relations work on behalf of Paganism begins. An accurate and positive article about Paganism accompanied by a full color photo of a High Priest of Y Tylwyth Teg performing a ritual appears in the local newspaper. In September 1976, The Association of Cymry Wiccae and the Church of Y Tylwyth Teg co-sponsor the celebrate the tenth annual gathering of the Tribes and the first Gathering of the Tribes held in the North Georgia mountains. This was a gathering of pagan, Wiccan and earth religion leaders from all over the United States. Its theme was peace, and it was one of the first gatherings to forbid any kind of verbal animosity between groups. It worked. Groups began talking to other groups, met in friendship, and many lasting and important relationships prospered from this first gathering.

Brethren
Here together now giving comfort
Our heart's locked of a secret sort
Seeking answers all our lives
Surviving life's mundane strife
Knowledge deep inside us
Not turning the key from the rust
Waiting as sufferers must do
A blessing I am told of the few
Wishing for blessings then to tend
The knowledge that comes in the end
Until our next life of bliss
And finally a bit of rest

Being alone allows us to have the time and space to reflect on what our lives mean to us. When we are with others, our thoughts can become sidetracked since we could take on their concerns instead of paying attention to our own. Giving ourselves time for serious soul-searching-whether through meditation or journaling-lets us dig more deeply into our present feelings and assess how those feelings manifest in our lives. And this makes us more aware of our truest thoughts and needs. By thinking about yourself today and how events in your life impact you, you will discover deeper meaning in your everyday existence.
It doesn't matter how we spend our days --
what matters is finding joy in what we do,
and making joy a priority. Whether you
spend most of your time at the office,
running a household or caring for a sick
parent, the key to a joyous life is
maintaining a positive spirit. By doing so,
joy will easily come to you and flow
through you.
Fairy Lore
Throughout history, there have been many people who have known and worked with the spirits that we now call fairies. Here in Britain, both the ancient Celts and Anglo-Saxons believed in such beings, a faith that has had a lasting legacy up until the present day. The Celtic name for fairies is sidhe, a word that means a burial mound, hill or earth barrow, since this is where many fairies live. It is said that when the Celts invaded Ireland, the resident people, the Tuatha Dé Danaan who had supernatural powers, were forced to retreat into the hollow hills and were only occasionally seen after that, though people left offerings of meat and milk on their mounds. They are very tall and thin, eternally young and beautiful in appearance, and generally dressed in white. The Anglo-Saxon term for similar spirits is elf or aelf, a word meaning something like 'white spirit', or 'shining spirit'. They are tall and beautiful and shine with a kind of inner light. They also live in mounds, and people left offerings, called elf blots, of meat and milk on the mounds for them.
Fairies inhabit a kingdom called Fairyland, Elphame, or the Otherworld. This realm is not separate from ours, but overlays it, unseen except in special circumstances. Fairies are occasionally glimpsed in our world, but usually only in the blink of an eye or on the edge of dreams. However, there are places where the two worlds sometimes meet; natural power spots, bridges between the worlds where people have occasionally slipped from the everyday world into Fairyland, perhaps walking into the mist between two old stones, or stepping accidentally into a fairy ring, only to find themselves in a kingdom where it is always summer, where the orchards bear apples and flowers at the same time, and where death and old age are unknown.
There have always been legends of fairies; they exist in every country of the world. The people of ancient Greece and Rome worshipped the nymphs of meadows, streams and mountains, and the dryads who lived in trees. Ireland abounds with tales of people who have encountered leprechauns who showed them buried treasure at the end of rainbows, wailing banshees who heralded the death of relatives and drunken cluricauns who stole from wine cellars. In England there are old pamphlets describing the mischievous antics of Robin Goodfellow, the merry spirit of the greenwood who cared for its animals and played tricks on hunters, and stories of West Country pixies who led travellers astray, but who helped kindly farmers with their work. There are similar fables from Africa, Hawaii, the Americas, Australia, Europe, Japan, China and Russia.
A culture that believes in spirits is one fundamentally different from our modern Western materialistic society. It recognises that a life force suffuses the whole of Nature, an energy that manifests in a range of spirits that fill the meadows, streams, wells, forests and even the air itself. They guard fields and individual trees, mountains and hearth fires. They may bless or curse humans as they please, and inflict sickness or health on the flocks and herds. Not so very long ago, an association with the fairies was a very real part of people's lives. An excellent relationship with the 'The Good Neighbours'- as the fairies were called - was essential for the well being and prosperity of anyone who depended on the land for his or her livelihood. Fairies were given offerings of milk on the old standing stones, bread and salt in the corners of fields, cream in saucers left on the hearth, and were left part of the harvest. Special stones - called dobby stones in the northern counties - had shallow depressions for making offerings to them, and were placed by field gates or the farmhouse door. Spiritual guardians called the Ward gathered at dusk in their sacred places, still known as ward trees, ward hills and ward stones, to guard villages. The Wild Hunt rode out to collect the souls of the wicked. For the countryman, fairies, elves and natural magic were part of the everyday experience.
As we humans moved away from our close connection to the earth, we lost our link with the wildfolk. We forgot how to see them, how to contact them, and how to treat them. Stories of them persisted, but they lost their awesome status; we diminished them, in our imaginations, into the cute Tinkerbells of nursery tales. But make no mistake; this is not a book about those fictional creatures that appear in storybooks and cartoons, the tiny, tutu-skirted, gossamer-winged beings of Victorian fable. This is a book about real fairies, potent beings of earth, air, fire and water, of plant, stream, rock and place; creatures of raw nature, representing its power and energies. Some of them are benevolent, but some are downright dangerous.
If we are to relearn the ways of working with fairies, the wildfolk of earth, we must follow the ancient pathways through the forest, where it is sometimes dark, frightening and perilous, but sometimes bright with dappled light, exhilarating and echoing with numinous power.
Brewery Responds to Complaints
Monday October 25, 2010
Last week, the Internet Pagan community caught fire with word of a microbrewery that had a beer label featuring a woman being burned at the stake. Naturally, many people were upset about this, saying it was in poor taste and highly offensive. One of the objections was the fact that there are still places in the world where people really are being put to death for practicing witchcraft.
Spearheaded by Vicki Noble of California, hundreds of people wrote in to tell Lost Abbey brewery what they thought of the imagery. Noble says, "Can you imagine them showing a black person being lynched or a Jewish person going to the oven? Such images are simply not tolerated in our society anymore (thank the Goddess) and this one should not be, either."
Sage Osterfeld, a spokesman for Port Brewing company, says the emails have run from polite to downright angry. He said Witch's Wit isn't intended to be an attack on Pagans, or women in general. In fact, it's part of a line of Catholic-themed beers, like Inferno Ale and Judgment Day, "conceived in the spirit of gentle satire by Tomme Arthur, another of the brewery's owners."
Although the New York Times, About.com's parent company, says the brewery has announced they will change the label, another source says that's actually incorrect. TheFullPint.com says Lost Abbey contacted them about the NYT story and said "no decision has been made on changes the Witch's Wit label, nor will one be made until after the "Halloween" news cycle runs its course."
Meanwhile, rumor has it that the beer itself is pretty tasty.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.
God never said life would be easy.
He just promised it would be worth it.
Never Argue with a Woman
One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside
Cottage after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.
Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.
She motors out a short distance, anchors, puts her feet up,
And begins to read her book..
The peace and solitude are magnificent.
Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat.
He pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?'
'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that obvious?')
'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her.
'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading.'
'Yes, but I see you have all the equipment.
For all I know you could start at any moment.
I'll have to take you in and write you up.'< /SPAN>
'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the woman.
'But I haven't even touched you,' says the Game Warden.
'That's true, but you have all the equipment.
For all I know you could start at any moment.'
'Have a nice day ma'am,' and he left.
MORAL:
Never argue with a woman who reads.
It's likely she can also think.
Send this to four women who are thinkers
Or men who can take it .
Spells for love divorce and all that jazz.... my opinion on the matter is just this...
You should never try to control a person feelings and heart strings,
Why force something,if the person is attracted to you or loves you they will do what your hoping for when the time is right for them, messing with emotions and feelings can trully backfire and what you want may not be what you get.
I have been practicing for many years openly the last 10. I have never done a spell or ritual to enhance a person actions or feelings when it comes to love,as I said this is my opinion ,to each his own..
And regarding ending a marriage its quite simple, you say you want a divorce, theres no way to control how it plays out.
Enough Said

Mystic
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
You will rest peacefully, and sink into a strange dream. In the dream, you will be playing an odd version of soccer with huge clear balloons, and people will be cheering you on from the sidelines, who are dressed in white formal attire. Don't go into the light, ok? The extra point isn't worth it.
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Excellent day to visit a bookstore. Try to find a book named "Make Money With Your Own Worm Farm." You don't need to read it, but it'll be fun to leave around where people will notice it.
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
You'll be feeling tired and discouraged today, but will be able to raise your spirits by pretending to be a cartoon character. ACME products may be featured, as well.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Good day to do a self-portrait. Or, if you're in a hurry, you can do what I do, and just spray paint all over yourself and run into a large canvas. Art is easier than you think!
Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Today, everyone around you will make you severely annoyed. The important thing is to remember that, in the long run, they're all dead.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
A friend will ask your advice on a technical matter. If you answer, you'll be blamed. Pretend you don't know anything about it.
Libra (September 23 - October 22)
You will find yourself using a very old spreadsheet program, soon. So old, in fact, that the columns have to be either Doric, Ionic, or Corinthian.
Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Someone you don't like will make repeated attempts to talk to you today. The best way to handle this is to stuff extremely crunchy food in your mouth during each attempt, and then mumble "What?" while looking at something slightly over their left shoulder.
Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Remember that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Normally that's not a big deal, but since your accounting department just changed its name to "The Mongol Horde", you might take notice.
Capricorn (December 22 - January 20)
Sometimes you need to take one step back to make two steps forward. In this case, you'll need to go considerably further back.
Aquarius (January 21 - February 18)
You will unearth a small stone figurine, while digging in a garden. If you set it on your television and put a small bowl of fruit in front of it, those unsightly warts should clear up in a week or two.
Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Good day to call an old friend, and reminisce. (It turns out to be much much harder to reminisce with a new friend, although it's often entertaining to try.)
