Ice Maiden

20:35 Jul 23 2011
Times Read: 495

Gentle snowflakes drifted,

covering a world that is very flawed.

But the seasons warmed around her,

and the Ice Maiden thawed.

From frigid white to golden,

puddles formed upon the ground,

she trembled only slightly,

as she took a look around.

A lovely thing this is, said she,

hair flowing to her ass.

She bent to pick a flower

growing by her in the grass. :-)

"No! No!" the flower screamed

as he felt his roots grab hold.

"I'm not for you to touch,

how could you be so bold?"

The desire to hold the flower

very tightly in her grasp

overwhelmed her for a moment

she was surprised at what he asked.

Oh lovely flower how could it be

I can't have you for my own?

I want to love you always

and even take you home.

The flower stayed quite rooted

on that very spot

and the maiden came to visit

admittedly quite a lot.

The sunny days of summer

had all been spent in joy

the two of them conversing

as if he really were a boy.

It came to pass one autumn day

the maiden came no longer

the flower began to wilt just then

he thought that he was stronger.

But seasons changed, the winter came

the flowers all did die.

Springtime may never come again

and the maiden's heart shall cry

Michael's Epitaph

20:26 Jul 23 2011
Times Read: 497

Early in the dawn

grey cobwebs laced with dew

I sat outside that morning

knowing nothing there was new.

The weight of all my days

came crashing down on me

my life a pile of ruins

for all the world to see.

My family may feel a loss

at least I hope its true

I loved them all quite dearly

I know they loved me too.

Everything I touched

seemed to turn to dust

nothing came of anything

and there's no one left to trust.

I enjoyed my wasted coffee

on the threshold of death's door

the rifle cocked and ready

called to me from the floor.

Farewell to all that's passed

it was time for me to go

it wasn't hard to pull the trigger

a relief for me you know.

And now I float above it all

seeing versions of the past

my tortured heart can go to sleep

and find some peace at last.

Demons in the Park

20:23 Jul 23 2011
Times Read: 499

Tree-filtered moonlight along the way

creates dark shadows I must slay.

Demons that constantly run through the park

cannot be lightly brought out of the dark.

There's nowhere to go, it's no way to die

haunted and alone - both you and I.

Alone

20:21 Jul 23 2011
Times Read: 501

When my heart wakes up

in this faraway place

I reach out to love

but touch an empty space.

There's no one here

in the middle of the night

to take my love

and its just not right.

I want your scent

on the pillow next to mine

and to have your warmth

in the curves of my spine.

Goodbye Poem

20:17 Jul 23 2011
Times Read: 503

Goodbye Poem

Then on her face there came a smile

you know I cannot stay

but I have loved you as you are

and always from this day.

And when you choose to think of me

as you know you'll do

a shooting star will light the skies

its a wonder, to be true.

And when I choose to think of you

because you know I cared

my heart will dream of might-have-beens

and a life we could have shared.

For what I lacked in faith

and that you've built in fear

will not let us penetrate

and will not let love near.

One day again a love may call

if you get your wish

but chances are you'll never find

a kinder, gentler fish. :-)

Z's Story

20:04 Jul 23 2011
Times Read: 505

I'm enchanted by your story,

your whole life in rhyme,

things I might have learned,

if given enough time.

The tale is all your sadness,

of how women came to you,

your ego mixed with passion,

you believed more than what was true.

They came, they saw, they conquered

left you in ruins with a thud

You couldn't believe they wanted

only babies, bracelets and blood.

And now here you are with me,

your weary heart war-torn,

There's nothing left for you my dear,

you said with more than a little scorn.

So we dance this dance,

you behold a lovely peach,

but you're afraid to take a chance.

You want to bite,

but you think its not right,

Based on your history.

From whence I came

there was no love

You know who I am,

you know why I'm here,

the stars showed me the way.

But why don't you fear?

they said to me,

their hearts encased in stone,

Because, I said

I'm never afraid --

EVER, to be alone.

Men have come

and then have gone

throwing their weight around

but all I've ever needed was

a lover with your sound.

I have a healing touch,

have shared it with a few

but not with anyone

who needs it as much as you.

Oh weary one

please come with me

and sit among the trees

and share your love as days go by

while the heavens pass through the leaves.
