Amazing what being stuck on a plane from the east coast all the way to the west coast will do for writer's block.
Got one section that had been bugging me resolved. I think it still needs some editing but it's done at least. And then got started on the next chapter which came out of nowhere - more of that "I'm just typing the story as it's told to me experience." But things have gotten kinda philosophical which is interesting and fun.
I should be able to do this editing and get this latest chapter up by the end of this week though for those sticking with me!
And now to step out into this blazing bright LA sun...wish me luck!
I suspect the title of my post might be throwing some of you off. A small number of you though probably got it right away. By last third, I mean what's left of the year before Halloween. As of this writing, we have just 115 days left!
I got the idea for this post because I've noticed for the last few years that summer has become oddly enough, the point in the year when I think most about Halloween/fall. Well, I guess it shouldn't be THAT surprising. After all, we all try to go to our happy place when we're miserable in some way, right? And the dead of summer is definitely when I'm most miserable in terms of the weather and the activities of the season. Hot bright days and going to the beach. Oh yeah - that's my cup of tea!
Hahaha, don't get me wrong. I can get into a hot rainy night as much as anyone. But generally, I can do without everything else. And so I find myself thinking more and more at seemingly random times about the music of Halloween/fall. I imagine myself enjoying the cool crisp air. And I get a tingle of excitement thinking about decorations. LOL - even just seeing a bit of orange will bring a smile to my face.
So here's the surviving the rest of summer and enjoying the fact that every day the nights get longer and the end of summer draws closer!
