So I went to my favorite local hang out tonight (a bar) - my first real night to get away for awhile - and a fight breaks out. Well, turns out its my best friend, Jer, is having it out with some drunk lame-ass. Anyway, this guy is slapping like a girl in a bitch fight (yes, stereotyping, sue me), and Jer just takes this dude down. Now, to give you an idea of what this guy is looks like: he's about 5'9-5'10 and weighs about 92 pounds. Jer is built like a linebacker, just on the shorter side. Then good-hearted lil' ole me tries to help the guy up and I almost get hit in the face because he decides to take a swing at me. Now, after the night of drama that I had, I was done. I reduced my intelligence to profanity and name-calling (a reaaaal shocker for those that know me *dripping with sarcasm*). Anyway, watching all this go down my last random thought of the night popped its way into my head: "People who act like that while under the influence of alcohol - need to stay at home."
More random thoughts:
"Why do big ear guages make guys look like they have elephant ears?"
"When faced with darkness, grab a flashlight."
"Don't let a hellhound smell your fear. That's like covering yourself in raw bacon and stepping into a pack of rabid dogs."
"Smile at the stranger. Laugh at the toothless, old man that's holding a sign saying: The Magic Touch: Now Open."
"Nil illegitamus carborandum." For those not fluent in Latin: "Don't let the bastards get you down."
"No, if everyone sees a pig fly at the same time, I'm saying F-ya'll. I ain't going back to the loony bin."
"Why do they call toe jam, toe jam? It doesn't go on toast. Well, it's no wonder people have the "foot in mouth" problem."
And the last one for the night, since I'm tired as all hell:
"Let's let bygones be bygones. Forgive and forget. Live and let live. Well, I'll tell you. Whoever thought of those never had to deal with two screaming friends that make you want to just Gibbs smack 'em upside the head and send them to their corners. It's pretty hard to forget when your friends act so childish. Then again, when did they ever grow up?"
I find that most people irritate me with some of the way they believe. Of course, they have the right to believe the way they do -- just like I have the right to believe the way I do. But, it's the way they hold themselves above every one else that drives me into an irate mood. Just because they feel that the way they believe is the "right" way, does not give them the right to be judgmental idiots. As a person, I hold myself to a higher standard. I believe a certain way -- yes -- but, I do not say to people, "Well, I believe this way and it's better than you." I listen to what the other person has to say about their beliefs, I ask questions, and then tell them the problems I have with it. People need to get over themselves, in my opinion.
