like that, sometimes you know when you have fallen in love. it can just sneak up on you in the darkness, and then suddenly, you realize: she isnt just your friend. At some point in your chats, discussions, flirts, etc, you stopped being "just friends" and you started to think about her all the time. she was in your dreams, she was the first thing you thought of when you woke, etc. the difference between this and stepping off that curb is that the long step into the darkness is both terrifying and exhilarating / amazing.
