Funny How things work out.

Well this week has been a roller coaster. Four days ago when we decided to take our new cat Banshee in as a foster cat for a local charity group, we never thought that he would be staying with us as our cat. But he wormed his way into our hearts, and today offically became our cat. Initally our intent was to simply foster the cat, until it could be adopted; we felt that we simply did not have enough money to afford another cat, let alone my wife allergies. I have had a tortiseshell cat for ten yrs, and it took Mary a few months to get used to her, where her allergies did not bother her.

Today though, we finally got our escrow check from the sale of the home we sold in Oregon, so we can afford Banshee. And we also discovered that Mary is not allergic to him. It must be something about his Semi-Longhair breed, (Norwegian Forest cat). So we made trip to my work (Petsmart) and purchased a collar for Banshee, as well as things for our Dog (Theoden) and Original Cat (Eowyn). But it wasn't offical until the collar and tag was on him.

When we got home, I decided to look up some information on the Norwegian Forest Cat, and DAMN, he is going to be huge ..... 15 - 18 lbs full grown. I can't believe that someone would abandon such a cute and adorable cat, let alone, such an expensive breed at his. Well their loss is our gain.

I don't have pictures as yet of Banshee, but for those who want to know more about the breed, you can go to the following web address:

How You pronounce Oregon

01:52 Nov 13 2006

This is more of a Rant than anything else, but when my wife and I moved back to St. Paul MN, I knew that I would start hearing people slaughter the state by mis-pronunciation. It is funny that when corrected people will always ask me, "are you sure?". YEAH pretty damn sure, my family has been living there for more that 150 yrs. So for all of you out there who seem to not know how to pronounce, it is "Ore-GUN" it is NOT "Ore-Gone". #1) we (Oregonians as well as the state are still there), #2) how do you pronounce Wagon? It is NOT Wa-Gone. So, for all of those who have not understood it yet, please show the proper respect, and pronounce it correctly. Most Oregonians are very touchy about the pronuciation, and will be very quick to correct you.
