It really is still just overwhelming - still so much destruction. Now its just mudslides and praying for no more rain so that clean up continue. But what has been the best is seeing all of our mountain communities coming together to help each other. Donations coming from all over the place as word spread and people hiking, riding flying in to some of the places that had no roads left. at this point is it just search and recovery.
These mountains are so special to me and more so over the last couple years have been my escape place. Crossing from TN into western North Carolina has an actual physical reaction and weigh lifts as son as i get up in the mountains there. And most of those places are gone, entire towns. then on top of all the people the domestic pets there are all of the animals that call those mountains home and they are displaces, deceased. It is going to take a long long long time to recover from this.

Stay strong, stay together. Ya'll are tough, but also understand where the help is needed and can be received. Your resilience is outstanding, so keep going until this too passes.
