Went to the Neurologist the other day. Apparently in 6 months I have improved on my flexibility, strength and balance.
When the Doc asked me what I have been doing, I told her about the chiropractor I have been going too. She got a horrified look on her face and told me that they are all quacks.....
I stopped her at that point, and cocked my head at her.
"Even though I have improved in strength, balance and flexibility? Even though I have had less symptoms since I started going to him? Even though I have been almost 4 years in remission?"
She insisted that they were quacks, but as long as I don't allow him to wrench my neck, that she guesses he could continue treatment of me.
If you haven't caught on, I am not continuing treatment with HER. I want a doctor that is going to work with me during treatment, no matter the treatment I choose.
Going to another doctor today, to get a referral to a Endocrinologist. I have several problems that I believe only someone of that specialty can help me.
Oh well....Keep your fingers crossed that he will take me on and give me the answers I wish.
What is it about owning something that is yours. When you first get a new car, you clean it if it is used, and then carefully place everything in the car where you want it.
Well its the same for a house, only on a bigger scale. Its been about 2 weeks since we moved in and are always finding things we want to do. But I'm not sure if I am becoming anal retentive, or just have that drive to make things look nice and neat.
I have hardwood floors throughout the house, except in the bedrooms, kitchen and entry way. It seems the last owner put in the wood floor himself and he obviously was doing it half assed. There he glued the ends, some of the glue squeezed through and it hasn't been cleaned up. So, its doing a wonderful job of snagging all the dirt in the area. The other thing is that the molding is done half assed. I can say that there is molding down, on closer inspection, he didn't miter the corners and sometimes only glued the molding down. So there are gaps at the bottom where all the dog and cat hair are collecting.
Todays goals of things to do, was simple. Finish putting in all the door stops and clean the floor. Here is where I turned anal retentive:
I got down on a wool blanket and started in the hallway. Armed with a bucket of soapy water, a scrubby sponge, a paint brush, paint scraper and paper towels, I attacked the hallway. I scraped up all the extra glue and used the paint brush to get the hair from under the molding. I would then use the soapy water to scrub the old glue off the floor, molding and walls and used the paper towel to dry the areas, since it is a wood floor.
The hallway looks AWESOME!!!!! But that took me about 90 minutes to do a hallway 3.5 feet wide and about 10 feet long.
*Looks at the rest of the house and faints*

It'll look fabulous when entirely done, I'm sure. Just don't wear yourself out doing it. ;)
I know it's hard but save some of that really tedious hard work for winter when you won't want to leave the house anyway. But I'm glad things are going well anyway :)
It will be so worth the effort when you are done, and you will be so proud for having done the work yourtself honey-
You have the rest of your life to do these things. Set a few hours a week, don't let it ruin your joy of the home.
:)
With the work you did 90 mins is really quick. Go girl!
Is it possible for you to have sores on top of sores?
Lets see.
Thursday
I started to put together the 3rd bedroom. Put the bed together, along with making it. I then put together a 5 shelf bookcase and had to ask LordV to secure it to the wall, since it was so big and wobbly. Filled the Bookcase with books, breaking down boxes as I went. Installed a door stop, so the doorknob stopped making dents in the door. I cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed the hardwood floor.
Friday
I finished putting in the books in the bookcase. Put the luggage into the closet and added the side table, lamp and vacuumed it out and its all set. Just some other boxes that need to go into LordV's office. Took the extra boxes of books out to the garage. Installed another door stop in the Kitchen, organized the bathrooms. Went to look at a sectional sofa. Seems like it will work, but we will see. We get that next weekend. I put together the weed eater so it could charge for doing the lawn tomorrow. I also put together the Lawn Mower. Reorganized the garage and washed the two sleeping bags I had.
Saturday
Went out and weed whacked around the house and fence. Dragged the garbage over to the front flower box and went through pulling out almost everything. Some of the rose bushes I couldn't. So I will prune those back and see what comes out next year. I then ran to the vet to get flea stuff for the dog and cat. When I came home, I filled the mower with gas and mowed the front lawn.
Came in and took a shower.
Now I am relaxing and feeling every sore muscle in my body. LOL. The joys of owning your own house. I am loving every minute of it. I think I will take Sunday off.

Wow they are fantastic rules, I agree with all of them, shame I didn't stick to them in the past but I guess its all a learning process :)
these are the Best rules I have ever read , if only people would fallow them they might fine there right person and might end up happy instead of so miserable and unhappy.
I so love these!! Can I steal them if I give credit?
Wow, nice rules.
You have always been there for me and on more than one occasion made me see and realize I don't need anyone to make me happy - I can do that on my own and I can be independent. I don't need a companion although it is nice. I am living for myself and my children and not for anyone else. Thanks sis. You are a very wise woman and always there for me. Love you.
These are excellent! Thank you for directing me to your journal!
I am PISSED!!!
How, in this day and age, can someone still snub someone else due to their religion?
LordV has been working on his family tree. He connected with some cousins and they gave him access to their family tree. But recently, they found out he is Wiccan and have denied him access and refuse to talk to him. Stated to him, "I'm not sure how you came to believe that way."
I am just shaking my head about this. I was brought up in Methodist and Episcopalian household. I was brought up to believe, that the Lord would accept me, if I did my best to be a good person and do unto others.
Throughout my life, I was told that I wasn't enough. That the Lord would never accept me, because I wasn't baptized, or saved, or didn't give 20% of my paycheck to the Church. I was taught to judge people by their actions and the person they are, not their religion, car they drive or the clothes that they wear. Doesn't that sound more like the message that the Lord put on this earth?
I am a Christian woman in love with a Wiccan. Am I damned? Am I damned, for loving someone, that is a good man, caring individual, intelligent and does his best to help others when he can? If I am, then this isn't the Lord, I was brought up believing in.

I was raised Baptist but became a Buddhist...not everyone I know likes that idea...but this is me.
Religion does this to people. They forget to focus on what God really wants. You are not damned. He is not damned. Don't listen to the worldly words. Listen to the love God gives us and teaches us. People will do anything in their power to create drama and I know you are aware of that........... so think outside the box and inside the heart where the true love really lies and rests.
The movie Dogma had it right.
"It doesn't matter what faith.....just that you have faith."
No your not damned ! Some people can be small minded just because they think you don't believe the way they do and really they have no right to deny him the right to that information as it is his family history also .Tell him to keep trying , they don't have to talk to him just let him have the history that he has a right to. his religion is his business people need to learn to except people for who they are not for what they believe in.
You are a Christian, while they are not.
You are a good person, as is LordV- they are not.
Sorry he got that reaction, but he is what he is, and they do not understand what it means to be Christians.
Nedra I so like that, people need to relax and should relax in this day an age when it's about religion.
If you're damned, then so am I sugar- I was always taught to believe that God wouldn't punish someone for loving someone else. So if we's going to Hell together, then I'll bring the beer...lol
Joys of being a home owner. Thankfully, we had saved about $4000, to buy a house. We were able to get the house, without paying closing costs and actually got our earnest money back. So, we paid like $180 for taxes and fees and the home was ours.
As a gift to us, our Realtor, decided that flowers and whatnot, is cheap way to thank someone for their business. She got us a home warranty, instead. What this home warranty covers, is the plumbing, electrical, appliances (including heaters and water heaters) and other things. She warned us that 80% of appliances fail the first year of a new home. So, we were thankful to her to have this in place.
House didn't come with a fridge, washer or dryer. So, we bought a whirlpool satin steel side by side refrigerator and a GE front load washer and dryer and had them installed. We also bought a garage door opener, installed.
Low and behold, the hot water heater started leaking from the elements, less than a week after we moved in. I called and not only got someone out the next day, they replaced the 50 gallon electric water heater and all it cost me, was $55 for the service call. Good deal there...
I have washed anything and everything with the washer and dryer, because for some reason all of our linen were smelling very musty. So that is done. Kitchen is organized, I simply have to install the garbage disposal and the under cabinet microwave I wanted.
Comcast came on Friday to put in the cable, internet and phone lines. Apparently the previous owners couldn't decide who they wanted. They have two satellite dishes, from two different companies, that are on the roof. There is only two phone jacks, one in the kitchen, one in the master bedroom. Both of them also have a phone jack that comes up through the floor right near them. Who knows.
The molding in this place is half-assed and so is the painting. They decided that it wasn't necessary to cut in, or go all the way to the top or all the way to the bottom. It also apparently wasn't necessary to take the plug and switch plates off the wall before painting. I removed one the other day and part of the drywall came off with it too. Well , all of that will be fixed properly soon. I have projects that will last me until next year.
The yard is mostly crabgrass and dandelions. We have got a lawn mower, spreader and Scotts turfbuilder with weed control. In about a month, we will put it down and in the spring, put down the Scotts turfbuilder with pacific northwest grass seed. Hopefully we will have green grass and not the hay that is out there now.
We also got a water jet, so we can go around and clean the outside of the house and the gutters when its time too. Lots of spider webs and dirt on the house. Eventually we will fence off the front yard and allow Maddie to go and run. Until then, she is stuck in the back yard, hunting shrews. I will attempt to get a video of her pouncing on them, if I can.
On another matter, we have discovered, heat, stress and an elevated heart rate, tends to aggravate my Multiple Sclerosis. With heat and elevated heart rate, I get double vision, top to bottom. With stress, I have trouble comprehending simple instructions. Which causes me to feel stupid and to do stupid things. I know its not my fault, that I am not understanding things, but its still tough. I consider myself an intelligent lady and to do stupid things......GRRRRRR.
I had my first episode of spasticity, which is simply, a muscle spasm that doesn't release. My legs and back cramped up that I couldn't sleep or walk. I was able to hobble into the chiropractor and challenged him to fix me, since he has fixed all my other MS symptoms. After 45 minutes, I was able to walk out of the office, the muscles released and the flexibility returned. I felt great! So, that is a plus.
Well that is the update. I have an appointment with my MS doc next week and will see how she likes the idea that a chiropractor fixed me lol. She didn't like it, last time I mentioned it. Hey, it works for me, so I'm going to keep doing it.
Check you later folks, off to do more organizing.
I have been taking things over to the new house and discovered that I have one of those neighbors, that simply can't take a hint.
The first day, I wasn't there five minutes when I heard someone called the previous owners name. I came out and introduced myself and told her we had bought the house.
She looked at the sign and said, "It doesn't have a sold sign on it. And the lockbox on the front door is still there. How do I know that you belong here?"
"Ummmm, I have the key and you are more than welcome to call my Realtor on the sign and ask."
We talked a bit, her telling me that it was a iffy neighborhood. Nothing specific, just iffy. I mentioned that I needed to talk to the owner of the pick up truck that is parked partially blocking my driveway. (There is a little patch of land between our house and the neighbor and they have parked a 1970s truck, in the street, it is about a foot into our driveway.)
"Oh that's mine, or well my husbands."
"Is it possible to park it someplace else, so we don't hit it?" I asked.
"Well we have been here 10 years and Claude allowed us to park there."
I smirked to myself. "Well, we're not Claude."
"Well we have been here for 10 years and have never had a problem with parking in that spot."
Thinking to myself....What you have senority, so you can park whereever you wish? Instead I said,
"You have a double driveway and a garage, why can't it be parked in one of those places?"
"Because then we have trouble getting out and there is too much stuff in the garage."
"What about on the other side of the driveway?" Attempting to be patient.
"Well we like it where it is, so we can keep an eye on it. Its a classic and we have found people attempting to steal things from it. Hell, someone already took the ashtray from it."
"Sorry to hear that, but you are parked in front my my land and partially blocking our driveway. Could you ask your husband to relocated it?"
"But we have been here 10 years!!! Claude and Debbie never had a problem with it."
"And again, I'm not Claude or Debbie." I said, looking at her.
"Well we will just have to see about this." And she walks away in a huff.
Well, its still there....so, I am going to let LordV have a talk with them, Man to Man. If not, I guess we are going to have to be hard asses and actually get the police involved. Don't mean to be picky, but I would hate to hit it and then have major issues.

Today, went to the house, to meet with the Lowes truck, to get the fridge installed. The truck pulled up and she immediately came out of the house and said to me, "Getting goodies?"
"Yes, the fridge."
"Well you better tell them that they can't back that up the driveway, its way to steep."
"I'm sure they will manage."
She again walked off in a huff.
Gee....I'm just making friends left and right around here. LOL.

Some people really have no idea. If it is a classic and they are worried that people may pinch things from it, or even pinch it, then they should park it in the garage.
Play it easy with them, I have alarm bells ringing. When you have moved in invite them round for coffea and attempt some sort of friendship with them.
LOL wow sounds like really fun neighbors! I don't think making close friends with this one is a good ideal. More the wave as you pass each other type relationship sounds good. It'll probably work the Man to man talk unless she's already raised such a fuss with her man and dared him to move it. Then the cops are your only outlet :( But lord help you if you did clip their "classic" trying to get out of your driveway.
I'm with Theban and Con on this one. Watch yourself, my alarms are going off as well, and I think that people who are "so and so never did anything" are probably chuffed that the people moved in the first place...i.e., they don't take change well. Take it slow, and let Josh handle the truck thing for now. The husband will probably be ALOT more amenable, and probably wants the truck in the garage anyway...lol
hmm sounds like this chick has no life so she feels the need to live yours....maybe she is just unhappy and feels everyone around her needs to be this way. about the truck just send her a rental bill every month or the bill of the tower truck drive. I went through something like that when i lived in the fl keys. the house i moved into the people who rented it before still had their boat docked in my back yard( the house was on a canal) so after a two weeks of the people coming and going and neve making an attempt to move it..i called a tow service for boats go an estamte and tapped it to the front window of the boat with a nice little note saying that this what they will pay me to have it removed..the next day the boat was gone.
We are signed and we get the keys and earnest money back tonight!!! Saturday they come and move us, I just hope I can get a fridge and washer and dryer there at the house before that!! lol
To say the least, after Saturday, I won't be online until Friday the 13th, that is when Comcast is going to come out. Oh well, I guess that means I will have to actually organize the house in that week.
Chat with ya later!!!

She could have given you her opinion of the treatment in a much more professional manner and then worked with your choice. I don't blame you for changing, I hope you find as great an endocrinologist as I have :)

You go where you are comfrotable, and can get the help you need- then come tell me so I can do it too...LOL

I'm with you and NG on this one, and you know why. Any doctor who snap s off a snarky comment like that has no room for any other medicine other than her own, and could be detrimental.
Go- and remember to fill me in when you get back...lol

Bloody doctors, what the hell do they know? Most of the time in my country they get it wrong!
I've had symptoms of multiple blood clots in my right leg for five years which they only this year realised and admitted was clots...Sorry I’m rather passionate about crappy doctors at the moment!
I hope he is a good one!
