The onslaught of rain pounded the small village, for the second week in a row. The village is bare, with the exception of the water. Homes, shops and every other inhabitable building are tightly shut up. Doors locked and windows shut fast. The people are nowhere to be seen are also shut up in there homes and growing anxious for her arrival.

“Grandfather, grandfather, when is the ‘Goddess’ coming?” A small child asked the Elder as she pulled a blanket around herself. “The rain is trying to get into the house, I’m scared.”

“Do not worry my child, the Goddess will come.” He says with the grace and wisdom of the old wise man he is. He takes her hand into his own and lightly pats her small hand. “Let us go wait for her at the front, I am sure she will be here tonight.”

The two, Elder and child, walk slowly hand in hand towards the front of the house. At the window, the small girl climbs onto a low stool to see out the large picture window. She presses her small face against the glass and stares hopefully out into the rain. “Soon my child, soon.” He says softly as he pats her on the head.

At the edge of the small village, a mysteriously beautiful young woman stands next to her escort. The rain seems to fall around her, but never upon her, for she is dry. Her long hair flows around even as she stands still. “Alphonse,” she says in a strangely enchanting and angelic voice. “Is this the village that has called upon me in their hour of need? I only see rain here. This is a gift from the heavens, they should enjoy it.” She turns from him, and begins to dance, and softly chants a prayer to the Spirits. Thanking them for the soothing rain.

Her escort, Alphonse, shakes the water from his eyes as he watches her dance in the rain, yet not in the rain. “Yes this is the village, I am sure. I do agree that the rain is a gift, but now it is in the second week of nonstop down pour. That is the problem Lev.”

Alphonse, he is head of the first division of Dragon Knights, for obvious reasons. Most Dragon Knights are of the human race given equipment that gives them dragon like powers, while others are only mere dragon riders. Then there are the half-breed demons, human and dragon demon, Alphonse is one of them.

Of the Dragon Knights, there are four divisions. The fourth division also consists of largely land dragon riders. They roam the lands and keep the peace. The third division consists of mostly flying dragon riders. It is their duty to patrol and protect the skies of Terrakami.

The second division also consists of flying dragon riders, but is mostly made up of swimming dragon riders. Like the other two divisions, they protect Terrakami, but they patrol the seas and oceans. Lastly, the first division is mainly made up of the half-breeds, such as Alphonse. It is the first division duty to protect the countries great elemental benders, and the elemental Gods and Goddesses.

The benders are a rare few who can bend the elements of earth, air, fire, and water to their will. They are highly regarded among the people and government of the world, for they can be a great and powerful ally. On the other hand, an even greater and deadlier foe. Then amount them are an even smaller number of individuals. The Gods and Goddesses of all four of the elements. While the benders can only control one or even sometimes two elements, they have control over all.
