We drop David off for the Jamboree tomorrow at 6:00AM.
We are then going out for breakfast, heading home, swapping cars and hitting the road for vacation!
Monday - Thursday we will be in Williamsburg, VA then Thursday - Monday at Virgina Beach. We are camping.,but all of the "rustic" type campgrounds were sold out by the time we decided to do this. So we will be at more up-to-date places than we are used to....Meaning electricity and WiFi. So I should be popping in now and again.
I almost bought the farm today on my ride home.
Some asshat in a red Miata made a left turn in front of me with damned little room to avoid t-boning him.
Luckily I was reading some safety tips on a motorcycle message board I belong to. One of the pieces of advice is to "cover" or have your hand on, the front brake lever whenever you approach an intersection. This reduces the reaction time between reconizing a threat and actually beginning to slow down. So as I approached the intersection I had my hand over the brake and clutch levers. As soon as Miata boy started turning in front of me, I was emerency braking. I stopped about 8" from his passenger side door and he went merily along on his way. If i had not been "covering" the brake and clutch I would have ended up in a major wreck.
Do me a favor when you drive. LOOK before you turn!

most do look they seem to 'not see' the motorcycle guy or gal for that matter.
glad you made it home safely.
--.-- See...this is why I worry.
Only two more days of work before vacation.
It's an excrutiatingly long week.
The company picnic at Dorney Park was actually quite good.
We got there about 20 min after the park opened. Our plan wa to try to ride all the coasters before the lunch gathering, take a break for lunch, hit the water park after lunch, return to the pavillion of the prize drawings and dinner, then head home.
The first part worked great. There were no lines to speak of for any of the rides. We went from coaster to coaster and had a blast!
Lunch was awseome. Fried chicken, hambugers, hot dogs, beans, pasta salad, sodas and Ice Cream.
After lumch we headed over to the water park. It was a zoo! We spent two hours there and only got to do one ride.
Got changed again and headed to the prize drawing. I didn't win anything.:( Ate some more for dinner (same stuff as lunch), then headed home.
Taday, Gina had to work so I did grocery shopping...Yeah! I also took an hour and went for a ride on the motorcycle. At 4:00 David and I headed for a picnic for his National Jamboree Scout Troop. Gina joined us there after the store closed and we had fried chicken and assorted other stuff. Heard all the plans for the troops trip next Monday and david picked up some patches.
Glad to be home for the evening...But I sure could use a weekend to recover from my weekend!

That is what makes a good weekend..when you need time off to rest from them. :)
Well I made it through a crappy week at work.
Too much to do and not nearly enough time to get it done. It seems a very few of us end up doing the work of too many slackers who either can't or won't do their freaking jobs!
Tomorrow is our company picnic at a local amusement park. Hopoefully I am able to socialize with the good friends I work with and avoid the asshats.
One more week and then a much needed vacation!
Work has been kicking my ass!
Gina and David were gone for a week at a Churcj Youth event. Now David is off at Summer camp.
The past weekend was pretty godd..But way hot. Just a tad of sunburn where I should have re-applied the sunscreen after swiming in the pool.
Today a miracle occured. We had Gina's car in for State Vehicle and Emision testing and it passed without any repair dollars! First time we've had a vehicle the mechanic couldn't find something to charge us for! Even in the past with 1 year old cars under warranty. An Honest mechanic is good to find!
