Did you ever watch the original and the updated series? It was a tv series and not a movie although I think they made one but not for the big screen. From what I have seen so far, this in NO WAY resembles the show whatsoever except character names. They made it comedic and it wasn't that. I'm afraid I don't share your sentiments since I saw it from day one on television. It had a sort of gothic horror story flavor. Nothing like these two have created.
