"I have added your profile, portfolio, and journal to favorites. Please return the favor"
When I don't (and I never do), my new friends desert me after 2 weeks on average.
A group of frogs lived happily and peacefully in a pond. Over time, however, they became discontented with their way of life, and thought they should have a mighty king. They called out to Zeus to send them a king.
Zeus was amused by the frogs' request, and cast a large log down into their pond, saying "Behold, your king!" At first, the frogs were terrified of the huge log, but after seeing that it did not move, they began to climb upon it. Once they realized the log would not move, they called out again to Zeus to send them a real king, one that moved.
Annoyed by the frogs, Zeus said, "Very well, here is your new king," and sent a large stork to the pond. At once, the stork begins devouring frogs. In terror, the frogs called out to Zeus to save them.
Zeus refused, "You now have just what you wanted."
I had an article I wrote published! It's about the Center and even though it's just in a local publication...but it's still exciting. It's not some reporter's words; it's what I wanted to say. They even used a photo I submitted and the title I submitted for the article.
I'm a happy girl :)

Good work! Congrats!
Any form of published work is great going. I hope the taste for it lingers ;-)
Thank you :)
That is nice, congratulations Joli :)
Congrats to you!!! :)
Congratulations to you, Ladypants!
Another way to get those inspirational juices flowing...Creative Commons. Check out this article on images shared by photographers. Included in it are photos from artists who have registered their work. Beautiful stuff and an idea for those of you photographers out there with a generous heart. 50 Inspirational Images
Ever have this trouble? I want to write, but I just can't get started. Here is a great site with hundreds of great writing prompts. Just hover your pointer over a number and voila!
Get writing!

Eh.. I like your idea of picking two words, looking up random images based on them and then describing the images better...
Well, it's what works for me...but sometimes, even looking at prompts gets your brain into the writing gear. I end up thinking of my own prompts.
Images always work best for me...either those in my own brain or those that I run across. I've found Vespers' portfolio and profile very inspiring and I've written more than once because of where her images take me.
Holy crap.

I like how National Geographic practically jacks itself off about high definition format.
That being said, this squid rules.
Wow, it's not even April 1st!
I had to show this to my daughter, she loved it. She thought it was so cute that it swam using its ears, and when that shark appeared she let out a wee gasp until it released it's 'glowing particles' when she said, 'omg. it farted'. I guess I'd have s**t myself too.
What is that horribly-drawn winking anime cat getting ready to do to that horribly-drawn anime bunny that's crying on its knees? Why is it winking? What are you trying to tell me?

LMAO!!!!
They are twins. I know that doesn't help decide what they are doing.
You know... I mentioned it in my journal too.
At first glance, I thought it was pedobear and the girl in the bunny suit was shouting NO! while crying...
...I had to look at it more than once...
No, I don't have to touch the doorknob 12 times and wash my hands after each touch before I leave for work. (I do like things to be at 90 degree angles on my desk and I only use clear push pins on the bulletin board because different colors = CHAOS! But I'm pretty sure we all do that.)
What I do do (I just said doo doo. *snicker*) is read Morrigon's journal until all the "NEW"s are gone. I can't move out of there until I've removed all of those red bastards. But it's only temporary...she'll write more...oh, yes she will. I get shaky while I'm at work. "It's been 30 minutes, do you think she's written more?" I can't go to bed until I KNOW. *twitch*
Oh god, this is getting to be longer than I intended. She could be updating right now. Must check.
