Today was the most eventful and scariest Monday I've ever had. My heart was ready to beat out my chest, I was so afraid. My uncle passed out in the back yard, and my mom was yelling "Call 911." Me, upstairs in the kitchen, dialed right away. I could see the panic in her face from the window. My dad comes running from garage, through the kitchen, to the basement. I'm talking to emergency responder, following right behind my dad, answering the questions the best I could. I could not recount the phone call if my life depended on it. But when I got outside, my uncle wakes up, and he's telling everyone he's alright. My mom takes the phone away, and talks to the responder, because at that point I was speechless, then she hangs up. Minutes later, the cops and a fire truck show up. I let them in and show them to the basement. Turns out, he was just dehydrated. I still feel the adrenaline, the antsy-ness; I am on high alert. Whew! I am just thankful my uncle is okay, and thankful to be alive.
For the first time in a number of days...weeks...months...i feel alright. It's like something heavy has been lifted off of me. My worries fears- alleviated. I don't know how to hold onto today. I just want this feeling to last.
