I have a college degree yet I'm competing for VOLUNTEER positions. Why do I have to write 3 essays and go through, not 1, but 2 interviews for the CHANCE to VOLUNTEER 10 hours a week for your company?
Honestly, if someone is willing to use their time, money (gas, train fare, etc.), resources (lap top computer), for the purpose supporting the companies initiatives for FREE, why not let them? Furthermore, why limit yourself to one volunteer when so many are willing to try? Why not one or two for every available mentor? Everyone benefits! The company gets free labor. The candidates get desired experience.
I HATE job hunting! I HATE this economy- of that is to be blamed for my current employment situation. (I refuse to believe I am incompetent.)
Hiring managers are generally horrible! They say something like:
"I have other candidates to interview. 'll get back to you next week."
Translation: I'm never going to call you again ever. We need someone better and you are not it.
(When I follow-up, someone else was always chosen.)
"We are hiring at the end of the month. Come back and talk to me then."
Translation: I am sending you away so I can interview and hire someone else. I like hopeful candidates return only to be disappointed. It's a hobby.
I generally do not like "reality" TV, but if there was a show that put interviewers in the shoes of the job seeker I would be the BIGGEST fan of reality TV.
I am not Superwoman! I make mistakes! Why must I turn everything I say into some campaign for the job? Part of the reasons interviews make me anxious is because I have to think about the context of every word that leaves my mouth.
Life hurts.
Graduate school definition of "required": Not necessary
In the 3 weeks I have been in class I have not used any of the "required" textbooks we were told to purchase. After viewing the syllabus, I might as well resale the books and get a fraction of my money back.
Last year, I grew some habenero peppers and put some in the freezer. Today, I thawed one and cooked it into a sweet potato black bean chili. It has the most amazing after burn! It lasted for fifteen minutes!
Next time, I am going to try and cook Naga Jolokia (The Ghost Pepper)(The World's Second Hottest Pepper) into the chili. When I first tried the ghost pepper, I had no idea what to cook it into. The pepper alone does not have much flavor.

Sounds great; I love spicy foods
What a brave, brave girl! :)
Is it wrong to not like long drawn out phone conversations? Beyond 15 minutes, no matter how good of friend the person is, I want to be done talking.
Snow still on the ground + More snow to come+ Laws requiring snow removed from sidewalk within 24hrs after storm = Misery
