Somewhere out there
There is a place for me
To stretch my wings
To feel, to see
To be released from me-
My broken dreams
And childhood notions
Of happiness.
Somewhere out there
Out there, out of this box
There is a place for me
Brighter than a star
And we can take delight
In open spaces -acceptance
Living the pieced together dreams
Of a taciturn child.
Maybe red like roses,
Maybe so full of blood,
The enemy within me
Blossoms from a bud
Taking root, there is nothing left.
Maybe in my mirror,
more than shadows,
I can see, it shatters.
Nothing left,
but broken pieces,
Me,
And broken dreams.
Maybe in my dreams,
I can escape.
I am free.
But the enemy that never loses sight
And learns to take its flight.
