What does it mean to be known?
Is it: To be an image or reflection?
The pixels tell you my philosophy
while the glass foretells my fate.
My outfit is what makes me "me."
Or is being known something more?
Like what I did last night?
Last week? Last month? Last year?
My actions that make my attributes or afflictions?
I wish my actions were an aesthetic I could wear
everyday to every place I go.
What does it mean to be known?
Once upon a dream
She said
Love me for who I am
She said
Stop trying to fix me
Though she wasn't perfect.
Once upon a dream
She woke up.
She said
I am that girl.
Touch me with your music.
Strum me with your heart.
Spin me.
I'm along the rhythm.
Sing me-
but not to sharp or flat.
Synchronize your heartbeat
so we can syncopate together.
Let's trill instead of chill.
(I showed this to my friend who claims that this poem is overtly sexual. I don't see it. That was not my intention. Oh, well.)
COMMENTS
I disagree with your friend I think it's a beautiful work and can portray just love through music, rather than sex.
