The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Oahu's North Shore probably has some of the best surfing in the world. The rider waves are always at least 10' high. Usually more like 15' -20' and the sound of the surf crashing stirs my blood like no other sound.



I probably like to hang on the North Shore better than any other place in the world.



When I was there about three years ago I stumbled upon another vamp and I also killed another man-eater. It makes for an interesting tale and maybe I will relate the events here.



I am not sure there is a lot of interest in what a surfing vampire gets up to these days...

This wasn't the first time, and I am certain it won't be the last that I battle a shark. However, this one was a massive hulk of muscle that I hadn't been tested against. I stared into the gaping mouth - the eyes were already rolled back in its head - and did a quick back flip to once again position myself under the belly of the Great White.



This time my knife hit straight and true to the stomach of the shark. Due to the size the knife sank all the way up to the hilt...I felt the shark's rough skin against my hand as I ripped its belly open. The damn thing tried to get its jaws on me and almost succeeded but I managed to dodge the razor sharp points just in the nick of time.



At the last moment, I pulled my knife up and made one more slash. This time I cut the beast's throat. I swam quickly towards where my board was still bobbing and hoisted myself on it. I watched this man-eater gasp its last and sink beneath the waves. I needed to hurry to get back to shore now because the amount of blood in the water would call to the other sharks in the area and I had no quarrel with them - just the man eaters.



Once again I was victorious against a vile beast. I paddled my board a little father towards shore and waited for a moment to catch a wave. It lifted me and the board up and then...I was surfing into the beach on a massive 15' rider. The exhilaration was sublime....



The shark that nearly took that kid's life was gone and I was doing what I do best - riding the waves.

The dripping blood called to the Great White. I sensed it veer towards my call. About 50 yards from my position I see the tip of its dorsal fin which quickly disappears under the surface. I slipped off my board and into the sea. My board is tethered to me by an extra long specially made surfboard leash.



Down I dove, as far as the tether would allow - about 45 feet. I readied my knife and as the shark came closer, I could gauge its size and how fast I would need to be from here. Holy shit this mother is big! Almost 20' - not quite though. This wasn't going to be easy...



I shot upwards quickly as the shark passed over my position, veering slightly to the back of the beast. I slashed the knife upwards and in along the shark's belly to mortally wound it and disbale its tail. It caught the back but at the last minute the shark veered to its left and I missed some of the vital underbelly. Damn!



The shark immediately reacted to this assault and flipped around quickly but also thrashed around from lack of guidance. At least its dorsal fin was pretty much disabled. I rose to the surface and faced the shark...I was directly on top of it with its gaping jaws open - I stared into death.
