Dying of thirst02:55 Aug 26 2015

It's a lot to realize you're dying
I am.
My bones ache
My muscles jerk
My blood burns
My teeth throb
My nails sting
And I am so, so thirsty.
I can feel my heart
the old cliché,
fluttering like a wounded butterfly in my chest
My stomach spasms and
out comes purity.
I bite my hand
and swallow sin.
The bite of cold on the inside
The blistering burn of the sun on my skin
I am dying
So please
Before I suffocate under my thirst,
Lend me a hand
Or a neck?
