Jack started crawling, yesterday. I'm just tickled to death about this.
I miss him.
I miss his mother.
This evening I was in an email conversation with a friend about whether or not Jack would be sporting a mohawk for an event around Halloween. My reply was that it was doubtful, because Jack wants hair just like daddy. He told me. I swear. It sounded a LOT like a bloodcurdling shriek, but I know what he maent. :-)
Anyway, that little conversation reminded me of my oldest's first haircut. When Alex was around 1, we used to take him and his sister to an indoor play area in the mall. It's a great place for kids to run around at top speed and bounce off of things, because everything is covered in soft foam, includeing the floor. Alex had semi-long, very curly blonde hair. I don't know why we didn't take him to get his hair cut, sooner, but it never seemed to be an issue. Until THAT day:
Random Parent: What a cute little girl. What's her name?
Jason: Alex.
Random Parent: How old is she?
Jason: HE, is 1.
Random Parent: Oh! I'm sorry. Silly mistake!
Jason: Yeah, happens all the time. It's hard to tell because of the BLUE overalls with the DUMP TRUCK on them.....
He got a haircut the following week. :-)
