Ms. Momo,
Aww - you are too sweet. My thoughts and opinions of you are in complete reciprocity.
You're unemployed too? Aye, there be the drag! I lost my job just over six months ago and there has been nary a nibble in my industry. This is kind of funny (in the "isn't it ironic" way, not the proverbial patella potch). I was hired by one of the top interior design firms in the country and was loving my job. The firm celebrated my one year anniversary in January with a nice leather portfolio, embroidered polo shirt (not my style, but at least it was black) custom pen, bottle of champagne and cards of thanks from the owners. One week later, they told me they had no work for me, see ya! Huh? Ah, well - at least I have unemployment and hey, since my 401Ks tanked, the taxes I had to pay were minimal when I withdrew from them. Always look on the bright side of life, as Monty Python so aptly put it ("Life is just a shit, when you think of it").
How was the job fair? What line of employment are you seeking? Phrenology? Physiognomy? Taxidermy? I hope it went well.
Ciao!
JAP
Eh - I say remove the degrees from the resumes; we'll have an easier time of landing a job...
JAP is sooo cool - funny too. Talking to him is like having a fun sidekick! I don't feel so alone in the ranks of the unemployed now.
I think I'll send him a VR e-card invite...we could always use smart friendly people here! And hell -he's got some time to burn now - LOL!
(Provided that he doesn't get bored or lazy in trying to level up).
Taxidermy...that's sounding pretty good - as long as I can stuff people, and not animals.
You ever notice that when famous people die, they go in groups of three? This week: Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson (Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson both died TODAY...creepy).
And all around my neighborhood, people are blasting the music of The Jackson Five and Michael Jackson...from homes, cars, etc...giving me a flashback. My first concert as a lil' girl was The Jackson Five...yeah, I know. I'm old.
COMMENTS
HEY! None of that I'm old crap, you and me likely come from the same generation and I know I am not old so you can't be either...lol.
I'll be eligible for AARP...soon. Very soon.LOL!
*waves my AARP card* lol...so true...the music won't die. And that is what we get to keep.
Oh, I am such a fucktard...after rating close to 300 items in the database today, it is obvious that my brain was fried...
My comment about the video in my journal was messed up, as I did not put more info into it regarding the onlookers.
You probably think I'm a bitch in regards to what's going on in Iran - SOOO not the case. (I have other notes in my journal regarding the situation there).
Never write in your journal when you aren't thinking clearly...
COMMENTS
The thing here to remember is also when rating do not cut and paste messages...if you do...
check when you go back to rating that you have put back the cut and pasted ~cool~ or ~rated~
Lol, I have rated with many a message for someone else because of a fried brain.
Take care you...
Thanks, Theban. A good night's sleep and some Rice Crispies cereal has me straight!
I just feel really bad about what I had in here earlier - made me look very bad. The true thing about me is that I am a compassionate person, and sometimes negative world events really get to me.
Some things in my journal are of a serious nature- some are not. This is serious, but if you understood Farsi, you'd hear a kinda' funny wise-crack on the video. The Iranian woman in this video is courting trouble:
What is going on in Iran is NOT funny...my earlier comment looked as if I thought it was. Poor choice of words on my part...so, this is a
MAJOR EDIT!!!
I should have stated that what made me laugh was a lil' sarcastic comment made by one of the onlookers, ie "Did the revolution start already?' due to her complete lack of care in her dress. Is she being too brave here, or has she snapped due to the crisis going on there?
Not funny...
So, after talking with CryingDutchess about how I'm sick of being unemployed and broke, we've decided that I should come out to NYC for a visit...this would mainly center on starting up our own escort service.
We'll gather up a few hot guys, and rent them out to the best clientele. Once we get the cash flowing, we'll then hold seminars on 'How to be a Pimp/Madam' , including secrets on how to best deliver the perfect 'pimp slap'. I'm really beginning to like this idea.
I love America.
COMMENTS
XDDDDD This is why I have such a questionable reputation here! I can't believe you put the multi-billion dollar idea out there for all to see!
Yeah...but they don't know the secrets to the success of this enterprise...I'm counting on you to make us rich!
well .....there is an idea lol
Good luck with that lmao
Did I here the words international??? I'll sign up...anything for a fast (and I mean fast) buck lol
You sure, Theban? I have to tell ya' that I'll be taking 60% of your earnings, luv.
And I get the other 40%!!
Ummm, am I allowed to keep any tips...there will be some I'm sure ^^ lol
I've read thru most of the updates...I'm liking this!
At least we all have different new things to strive for now.
...On the other hand, my stats have dropped a little, as I don't have a ton of friends (currently at 85, of which appx 12 I actually talk to), and I've given up on contributing to the database. Oh well.
I decided to make a few small changes to my profile; change the background, add a few new pics, delete some old ones.
The info and eveything else is the same. My likes haven't changed, so why should I be changing this profile around much?
(Well, I'm stubborn...lazy too...and somewhat of a computard. So there).
...I really can't. I keep wanting to listen to the Outlaws' "Green Grass and High Tides" over and over again.
I was suppose to go with a few friends - one Iranian - to the rally that was held yesterday in San Francisco. Ended up staying at home 'cause I needed to get down to working on paperwork -plus, I was lazy. I went with them in spirit though.
I think it's cool that the US and the world is seeing this as a major news item. Usually, when world events take place, they are back stories to the media here. If only we could be the same about other world events that are taking place...like the hundreds of people being killed everyday in various countries in Africa that you never hear about until it's too late.
Here I am on VR, and my monitor is still dark - I can barely see anything...which sucks, as I wanted to hang out here tonight and catch up with a few friends...piece of shit monitor!
Today was the day of my W.I.A. orientation. Nothing crazy or unusual about that - except for the 4 month wait to see if I'm approved or not for the program. I'll be re-doing my resume and making alternate versions of it, to fit the various company jobs I'll be applying for...anyway, what IS crazy are some of the people I ran into or saw today. I expect lots of wierdos and nutjobs in San Francisco or 'Berserkly' (Berkeley), but not in the small city where I live. But...it seems that no matter where I go or live, I attract crazy people.
Today's examples:
On my way to the orientation this morning, I waited for a BART train near my apartment. A well-dressed good-looking guy was nearby. He said good morning and I replied likewise. He then came closer to me, smiling. I immediately thought 'No dude - I don't want to buy anything or have a personal relationship with Jesus'.
He proceeded to tell me about his 'amazing lil' friend' that I should see. I thought 'Oh no! Is this guy a perv?' I told him that I didn't want to see his 'lil' friend' and politely asked him to go away. He actually looked sad. Before he walked away, he pointed to the ground, saying "But there he is, right there!" I looked down to see ants marching about. Apparently, out of the dozens of ants there, one was the dude's friend. He totally threw me for a loop, as I thought that he was gonna' unzip his pants to show me 'his friend'. What a fuckin' nutjob.
...On my way home after the orientation, I stopped by a store to pick up some Slim Fast (One of the few things I can ingest that won't give me stomach pains later). A totally drunk guy stumbled towards me. Although he reeked of stale beer and piss, and could barely stand, he said - with perfect clarity: "Ma'am - the local law enforcement authorities have informed me that you are concealing a brick in your purse."
All I could do was shake my head and keep on walking.
Coming back home on the train - around 3PM - I noticed an elderly black woman staring at me in the almost empty car. She was wearing a long blonde wig, clutching a sock monkey.
When friends tell me that I need to get out more, I just say - 'No - I don't".
COMMENTS
sock monkeys terrify me.
is that wrong?
I actually kinda' like sock monkeys.
Wow, sounds like you had loads of fun.
What a mess I've had for the past three weeks...stress and life's problems will actually mess you up - I can attest to that. Getting a little bit of a break for now...maybe I can try to write in my Isis diary here, and work on my novel - if I can concentrate for more than 15 minutes at a time...the job search is the most important thing right now. Gee, I guess it would also help if I could eat more and not feel so tired all of the time (Well - at least I got out twice for a walk)...
It's an old commercial, but I still love it:
COMMENTS
I've never seen it before. I like it.
OK, there was just something seriously wrong with that picture.
Lol, that's why I like it!
Damn - I added these to the Sandbox's Rejection Hotline thread...I haven't had the opportunity to use them though (I'm too nice in real life)...
"Hon, it will never work out; I'm an Eloi and you're a Morlock."
"Persistence is futile; you will never be assimilated."
COMMENTS
those are too good not to use.
*borrows them*
I like the last one and I thought of-
"Persistence is futile; you will never be inseminated"
For the one's that don't get past go lol
Theban - LOL!
