I've been working on a couple of projects: A novel I can't seem to finish (I have the ending, but not the bit prior to it...sigh), a collection of short stories, and a novella. (The novella may become part of the short story collection though).
Having a blast with the novella. May finish it before the other stuff...lol. It's called "A Good and Fair Trade".
Excerpt:
(before any additional editing)
Brigid cleared her throat, then began flipping through the pages of her notebook.
“Well – to begin, I’d like to get some information first – about Hell” she stated nervously. Salaxaureus raised an eyebrow.
“May I ask why such a lovely innocent is interested in the vileness that is Hell?” he asked, in a sarcastically chipper tone. His yellow eyes shifted towards the grandmother, wary that she’d toss more holy water upon him. She didn’t.
“What can you tell us of the damned and their punishments? Are all in hell free to come and go through an evocation?”
Salaxaureus raised both brows in confusion. He wondered what the hell the women wanted from him.
“I don’t understand why I was summoned. I am either called to fu-fornicate, or kill someone.” He sat back in the chair and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Answer the question, please” replied Grandma Brigid. She wagged the vial of holy water at him again. "Stop acting like a brat."
