I recently managed to track down someone who was one of my best friends back in university, and it turns out that he now has a career as a horror writer. It has been really cool catching up with him again, and while we were finding out what we had both been doing for the past 15 years, I showed him some of my art.
As a result he has commissioned me to paint the cover of his next book. I am kind of bouncy about it, but at the same time I am shit scared that I will fuck it up somehow. Still, I figured it was worth sharing with all of you, if only to take a break from my recent diet failure cascade:P
He's DAMN lucky to have you! I can't wait to see what your cover will look like. You think and see the world like nobody I have ever known, therefore, your art is unique. And because I'm in the best friend inner circle, I expect to be part of every stage...I will vicariously design a horror novel cover through you!!!

I should have updated on sunday but I am sick. Really sick, pity me! Feel the pity? Feeling good and sorry for the fact that I have an evil throat disease that is making me sleep for 20 hours a day? Good.
I gained 2lbs, likely water. Now I will run off and hide:(
I'm remembering last night with grins and a few head scratches. Most notably, Ockham saying, "Have you picked up the trash for the bum?" And you replying, "He wouldn't accept my meat."
"Bird murder, best birthday ever!" was also awesome :)
I love you so much, you crazy british chick, you. I'm gonna sing "Happy Birthday" to you with a cajun accent while we drink beer and play Scrabble! And maybe we'll make Ockham show us the muffin man!
Still at 272, but I didn't expect any miracles for this weekend:P
A quickie piece of relevant news though. I have been prescribed amitryptiline to help with some pain issues, and one of the side effects is that I may become the size of a house. I am doing some research at the moment on what causes this and the kinds of foods that will help me avoid landwhale status.
Please be patient with me if I don't show any loss for a couple of weeks. I am hoping it won't affect me at all, but I am switching the kinds of foods I normally eat so it might be a bit glitchy.

There is bad news, worse news and good news and more bad news.
The bad news is that my scales gave up the ghost, the worse news is that they had been giving an inaccurate measurement. The good news though is that I have a new set so I can start again properly.
Unfortunately they show a new and very accurate weight of 272lbs.
Oh well, I would rather see the real weight than an artificial lower one.
