Moonlight dancing caressing my face
In my gown of satin and lace
As your heart beats in tune
A phantom you become so soon
Dancing with a phantom I can see
As your shadow fades, you have left me
Once again to dance alone
Regretting all that I have done
My heart echoes in the empty room
As my mind foresees my lonely doom
My soul cries out a heart broken
Was my hope worth to be taken?
Dancing with a phantom I now can only hear
My empty shell fills with a horrible fear
My eyes close gently as they tear
I now see the memory so clear
A phantom now you’ve become to me
No answers, no cries, no hopes to be
From you I see, hear, and feel nothing
You have closed the door that kept me dreaming
The sun sets no more on this romantic at heart
The birds no longer sing their happy part
The curtains have fallen on this theater
No more plays no more love stories for ever
The phantom has now vanished completely
No more shall I feel him dance with me
In my dreams where he dwelled the darkness remains
As he fades away without looking back in the rain
Moons have passed since that day
Yet the pain and sorrow will not go away
Perhaps to lie and deceit you would have stayed
Perhaps also if I would of believed and prayed
Now my shadow walks alone
Ever searching for yours that has gone
Not once since as my heart let go
Of you in there, in my heart this I know
In a perfect future a chance we might have had
But knowing you it is not to be, yet so sad
For the love and passion that harbor within me
I mistook it to be sufficient for you, a fool I must be
A life uncertain is my only way
Of moonless night and sunless day
Unable to forget you all the ways I have explored
Knowing I danced with a phantom I adored
