Well.. it does have its perks. I mean.. free rent is the major thing. But, helping people is the true highlight of it. I thought "Well..I'm gonna be staring at monitors all day." Nope. Not even close. I gotta deal with the mouths of tweakers who think they know everything, the rule breakers who say they follow the rules, etc. etc.
The best thing about my job is proving people wrong. "I didn't do nothing!" "Bullshit. Cameras don't lie. It shows how much of a dumbass you are by doing what you did." And they crumble like a house of cards when the proof is right there.
It does get me out of my shell. It helps me grow some confidence. For example, the last guy who was employed as their security guard. He did not want to kick out females. Males, he was fine with. Females.. nope. I'm one of those that does not give a shit at all. If you don't belong here or can't follow the rules, you best bet I will be on your ass like white on rice. You think I'm gonna lose my job and lose my place because the idiot in C unit wants to invite tweaker hos from the street who brings in a ton of bags and such? F all that mess. I will go confront him and the tweakers he brought in.
I got cussed out a few days back. A tweaker ho with bags snuck into the downstairs and ran to the bathroom. I went and confronted her. A) She doesn't live here. And B) Like the sign on the door says "No bags and such are allowed inside". So, yeah.. I got cussed out like a dog. I laughed about it. I got called an asshole, a dick and other things. The best thing I came back with is "Wow. You can't hurt my feelings, lady. I got a baby momma. She has tried to put me down like you did and failed miserably." Ohhhh... that pissed her off more. I was able to get her to leave and hopefully not come back. I've noticed that.. to keep them out, you need to be a dick/asshole. And they will realize that someone is always watching the cameras.
