I watched Dark Shadows religoiusly, when i was a boy, in my early preteen years, and then again in my early teen years, that i had to run home from school in the afternoon, just to watch it, that it made me want to be a writer, of vampire literature. I'm a struggling writer today, and i haven't as yet published anything, in the vampire genre, but i am writing a book about my childhood years, and my earliest experiences, with boys, girls, love, sex, and romance. I want to write a novel based on Dark Shadows someday, but for now, i'll be hard at work on my books, about those childhood, youth days. From the time i was a young boy, i've always loved the vampire movie genre, that started with the original 1931 film directed by Todd Browning, that starred Bela Lugosi, in the role of, Count Dracula, that was based on the book, Dracula by Bram Stoker. This was where Dan Curtis got the idea for the character, of Barnabas Collins, in Dark Shadows, from the old classic vampire movies. The storyline, that brought Barnabas Collins, into the modern world, was inspired by that film, that gave Bela Lugosi, his fame. The character, of Barnabas gave Dark Shadows its place, as the legend it became in daytime television, for 5 years.
