Resurrection
by Hawk O'Brian
The knife in my back, the smile on her face…
a stone epitaph marks my place.
Broken and beaten, and left for dead…
but I still have a hunger, needing to be fed.
It’s not my time, and I ain’t done
the blood in my veins still run.
Stained by hate, a burning RAGE…
a dark monster… loose and unchained.
The flame glows, the fire burns
the rage grows, the monster stirs
This flesh, this skeleton…
this blackened heart rises again.
This rage, this fire, this hate
will never NEVER fade.
The wind howls, the beast is free…
Black eyes open, to things I see
Dark dreams, and premonitions…
evil thoughts and bloody visions…
I break free from my crypt
she will never escape my grip.
The lies and fabrications she wrote…
My talons ache for her throat…
I stare into her hollow eyes
watching her life fade and die…
She struggles with her last breath…
one step away from death…
Her corpse falls to the floor…
my reason to live once more.
I’m not done, the Sun has set.
But heave away…. I’m not dead yet!
