So I was heading to work.... When the traffic started to back up.
No surprise, since it was raining like a mofo due to the Tropical Storm passing by....
But, once I got 1/3 of the way, I saw blue and red lights flashing in the near distance....
the lovely South Brunswick PD started to block off the highway..... but were still letting people drive forward....
I couldn't figure out why the road was going to be closed....until I got to the next light.
Mother Nature decided to place a new lake in the middle of the highway.... blocking all of us drivers.
Three cars were in front of me... with their engines flooded.... dead in the shallows of the new lake. But I had no choice... I had to get to work.
So I drove my Dodge Charger into the water , and hoped I would make it.
I gunned my engine, and drove in. With every inch forward, the water got higher and higher, and I pushed the accelerator more, trying to gain momentum, and make it to the other side.
At one point, the water was racing up the hood of my car..... and I could only hope that my engine didn't die, leaving me trapped in the middle of the highway lake.
But I did it.... Thankfully.
And I owe it all to the wonder car builders in Detroit.... who made the Dodge Charger as tough as it is!
a lesson to all... buy American!
