Over a mug of bitter coffee, through a napkin cluttered booth, past the plastic army man carnage and headfirst into a coy grin, I know. You'll never quit smoking and I will never stop slouching so I guess we'll both die young. Sitting just here, right now, I'm fine with that.
The battle ended in a stand still and we'll have to divvy the Dum-Dum stock pile equally. I won't tell you that I would have surrendered if you'd kept your hand a little closer and you won't say that you lied when you said you noticed me in the halls way back when. This is far from love but in it's ease it is so much greater. Neither of us are willing to think about tomorrow, we've both done that before but the lights are dimming and it's time to rally the troops. For now we'll hold fast to the chuckled promises of future dogfights and leave the divining to palm readers and moralists.
