The maze was long and seemed to be endless. Stuck in here for three days it made me halfway go crazy. All I kept seeing were thick bushes one path leading either to a wall or all the way back to the start. I had cried wondering if whoever it had been was still alive. I hadn't heard a peep of sound the whole time. It was like a solitary confinement cell.
I walked the dirt path seeing the end leading toward a bloody body. It was my sister Christina her long black covered with red streaks. She was in a cheer leading uniform gashes torn from her skin and the fabric. I barely managed to look at the mangled body as tears fell from my eyes. All the pain, hunger, and insanity had done nothing, but bring upon more disappointment and dread.
I grasped the silver dagger in my hand making it dig into my palm as sadness turned to anger. I whimpered to myself as I continued to stare at her.
I wanted to throw something so I threw the dagger to the ground. I stomped my feet shaking my head like a mad man as I screamed in pure heartache. Sure my sister was constant preppy annoyance, but even she his torturer did not deserve this.
"Fuck! You bastard," I yelled as the room started to spin as I buckled to my knees.
I wrapped my arms around her frozen body, and started bawling.
"Please don't do this to me. What will mom say. Please God let her live don't take her," I said knowing she had been dead for some time now.
"I'm sorry, but he kept me here for three days straight I was hungry," A voice popped up from behind him.
I stopped hearing this voice it sounded familiar. I turned my head to see my aunt Millie. Her brown hair covered her sullen green eyes.
"How could you," I said choking as I gasped for breath.
"See when I'm hungry I can't control myself, and...," She stammered.
"She was your God damn niece," I yelled standing swiftly to turn toward her.
"I didn't know it was her," She said starting to tear up.
I was speechless as I bent down, and grabbed the dagger. Intent was readily in my hands as stood up to face her.
"Go ahead slay her," The man's voice said over the intercom.
I halted looking at my aunt.
"No, I'm not to kill her," I said throwing the dagger down.
"What! She's just killed your sister," The voice said angrilly.
"No, you killed my sister. You are the one who's going to die. It's not her fault," I said.
"So be it," The voice said.
The fourth door creaked open, and I stared into it my little bit of muscles bulging with anger.
"I'm sorry," My aunt said.
"Instincts have a way of taking over people these days," I said walking into the next room.

As hell broke lose I didn't know what to do I was instantly awestruck as my next opponent was none other than a gigantic white wolf. Huh, at the least the next room had a light in it I thought to myself. The wolf stared at me then another appeared behind its coat a dark brown. I almost began to cry.
"Being a slayer means fighting anything that get's in the way. Since the werewolves and vampires have stopped their war. They have become close allies you will have to face both if you want to survive against the Queen," The old man said over the speaker.
"Are you out of your damn mind," I screamed as the wolf barred it's teeth at me.
I was still stuck in the dark room I couldn't get past him much less the other one. I started to run to the side, but he simply moved a little bit to the left. I was wondering why it didn't charge me, and get it over with.
"Werewolves are different than vampires they tend to test their opponent before striking," The old man's voice came over the invincible intercom in the room.
"I have nothing made of silver you twit," I yelled trying to think.
I can't intimidate it I'm just a skinny toothpick of a boy. Making a swift decision I decide to step forward. I made a mistake it roared, and charged. I then stumbled to the side trying to avoid it, and tripped. I hit my head on a table.
"Ow," I yelled mumbling curse words.
I had barely avoid the attack, and yet managed to stand up quickly looking for the werewolf to pop at any moment.
"Let's just say they like to play with their food," the old man said with a cackle over the intercom.
I felt on the table, and found a dagger with a quote engraved on the handle: "Always strike for the Heart."
The doorway was clear, but what lay in the shadows? Just make a run for it, and God don't let me trip over anything I thought to myself as I got a deep breath to make my courage rise a little.
I went for it, and then I could hear the padded feet hit the floor hard as they followed my trail. The room was empty, but tall. The roof was made of glass with the full moon showing through.
I was tackled to the floor face first into hard concrete. One of my teeth cracked under the pressure of the force. The werewolf pinned me down with one paw, and one paw was close to my face. I slung the dagger upward, and then down into the paw next to my face. The wolf yelped as I yanked the dagger from its paw. I took a quick chance to stand, and turned to face my enemy.
It was the brown one limping around me, and I charged it this time. I screamed as it rose up on its hind legs about to jump toward me, but I had the advantage this time. I slammed the dagger deep into the left side of its chest.
It howled as it's body turned into a naked woman. She started gasping as blood rushed up her throat.
"What have I done," I said catching her in my arms as she mouthed words to me.
"Don't feel sorry for her my young friend she knew what she was doing," The old man yelled over the intercom as I gently laid her body down on the floor.
Tears flourished from my eyelids. I felt such guilt she looked so human I couldn't stop myself. I stopped when I heard a sad, yet angry growl behind me. I grabbed the dagger by the handle, and pulled hearing the sickening sound of gushing blood. I stood up turning toward the remaining wolf.
I couldn't bare to look in the animal's eyes. I took his mate, and he wanted my blood. He jumped landing on me almost breaking my back. Then right when he was about to bite me he heard the crunch of the dagger entering his chest.
"I'm sorry," I said as he fell to the side dieing instantly.
I bent down shaking my head as I slowly pulled the dagger out.
"Remember never get attached to anyone. Not even your family," The old man said.
I just stood there, and realized that this wasn't a dream. I had actually just killed three people. I didn't care if they were vampire or werewolf. No one truly has the right to kill anyone. To resolve my debt to my self. I took my wrist, and cut three dashes into my skin with my dagger. It might be weird to do so, but it made feel as if this was the only way I could pay for my personal sins by shedding the flesh.
"Not one of the most effective ways to deal with guilt, but it will do. Everyone has there own ways," The old man said.
I looked across the room as the next door opened.
"I'm sorry to inform you I have taken one of your family members into a maze, and you must reach them before the monster I have selected. This is not just any monster its a hybrid," The old man said sounding sincerely serious.
"You did what," I yelled running towards the next room just hoping he was just kidding or maybe this was a nightmare I had never saved anyone in my life.
"Good luck, I hope you do better than I did," The old man said as I entered the deep fog of the next room.

A teenager goes through many battles his mortality shouldn't be one of them. Hi, I'm Defer I'm sixteen a geek of all sorts. I love every subject except for one mythology. I can't stand anything not real or not proven by science. Until the day I met Diena. She had dark black hair and pale blue eyes that matched her skin. She usually wore charcoal black dress that reached her knees. Her usual collar around her neck black with steel studs.
I was confused the first time she tried to talk to me of all people. I was just some dork. She said she was human because of the way I looked at her. I was thinking she was a goddess making my lips tingle with anxiety.
I couldn't reply so I simply smiled, and squinted my eyes.
Later that day I walked the hallway of the school, and then got slammed into a locker by a hooded figure.
"You are in danger my young friend," It said the voice sounding old, and bitter.
"Of what," I yelled struggling against the lockers as it lifted me by the neck.
"She is not to be trusted. She's is the Queen. I have worked far to long to have her and you screw things up for me. I will met you outside when school ends," It said as he dropped me.
I was baffled as I made my way to math. She was there of course the desk right next to mine. I sighed letting my brown bangs cover my eyes.
"Are you ok," She asked touching my neck her fingers ice cold making it go numb.
I grunted not able to reply because of shy intimidation.
She laughed at me picking up my toothpick of an arm to hold my hand.
I tried not to blush, but if all else failed my face was as red as a tomato.
"You're too nervous," She said a smile that showed her perfect white teeth.
"I...," I couldn't finish my sentence I was so love struck.
"Not too talkative are you," She said her eyes turning red for a split second as she rubbed her finger up my neck.
I shook my head trying to keep my sanity as her eyes switched colors every second. I could here music in my head drawing me toward her.
"I...mmmm," I said trying to figure out my name.
"Defer I know your name my dear," She said letting my arm drop as the school bell rang to go home.
My breath finally evened as she and the whole class left. I tried to catch my breath it was like she had just sucked the life right out of me.
"Damn," I said as I stumbled to the door.
Outside the parking lot was surprisingly empty as I made my way to my car.
Then out of no were the figure showed up once more. It grabbed me with such speed I couldn't keep up with time. I blacked out instantly as the force hit me.
Hours later I woke up wonder what in the hell was going on in a dark room. Unable to see I felt around to find a light switch on the wall.
"Listen young blood. I have a proposition for you I am growing old and weak. If you survive the training you are about to endure you may live and be the next slayer. The first to be born went after a vampire called Dracula. His name was Van Helsing. I am Dredger I have hunted the Queen for a very long time, but you must prove yourself worthy. You are now on a quest to be the best of the bunch by taking out the vampire that has escaped the clutches of several slayers through the centuries," A voice spoke over the intercom.
I stopped wondering what exactly was in the room I heard a growl in the darkness.
I whimpered wondering what the hell it was.
"Good luck," it said as something lunged toward me with glowing red eyes.
"What the fuck," I screamed as I scrambled to another position in the room.
I fell as I tripped over something the thing jumped on top of me. It smelt heavenly as a face appeared a woman's face. She had long red hair , and stared down at me as my finger's scrambled for the thing I had tripped over. I finally got a grip as she bent down. I grasped the item finding out it was a stake of wood. After realizing what she was about to do I shoved it through her sternum making her gasp for breath as her body crumbled into flames on top of me as I frantically slapped them off me with my hand.
I was scared shitless as the door creaked open, and the speaker came on, "Now for stage two."
"Fuck," I said as all hell broke lose.
