Call yesterday morning.
The conversation your about to read is real.
The people in the conversation are real.
These are idiotic moments on the phone.
This is in no way a reference to anyone else that may be in the service.
Army Recruit " Hello, may I speak with Neal."
Me "Speaking"
Army Recruit " This is Corporal bla bla bla from the Army Recruiting office." Can't remember his name.
Me " Did you know I'm almost 35?"
Army Recruit " Did you know the army takes up to 45 year olds" I learned later he was wrong it's 42 year olds that they take up to.
Me " Did you know I'm in college for game design"
Army Recruit " I don't care about that, that's not why I called."
Me " I'm not interested."
Army Recruit hangs up.
Review your facts recruiters. I did try to enlist back when I was in good health.
Fact: I've tried to commit suicide, and it was documented by the services.
Fact: They will have you lie about it just to get their numbers up for recruits.
Fact: If you can't do your research don't bother wasting my time.
Again this is in no offence to anyone that serves in the service, I have the highest respect for you, but know there are idiots that don't even tell you why they called.

The tilde ( ˜ or ~; pronounced /ˈtɪldə/) is a grapheme with several uses. The name of the character comes from Spanish, from the Latin titulus meaning a title or superscription, though the term “tilde” has evolved in that language and now has a different meaning in linguistics. The tilde is colloquially known as a 'squiggle' by people who do not know its name.
In many games, the tilde key (on U.S. English keyboards) is used to open the developer console. This is true for games such as Half-Life, Halo CE, Quake, Half-Life 2, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, Unreal, Counter-Strike and others based on the Quake engine or Source engine.
It is sometimes used in rogue-like games to represent water or snakes.

Today's Symbol of the day (@) called the at sign or at symbol, is an abbreviation of the word at or the phrase at the rate of in accounting and commercial invoices, e.g. "7 widgets @ $2 = $14".
@ is used in various programming languages although there is not a consistent theme to its usage. For example:
In C#, it denotes "verbatim strings", where no characters are escaped and two double-quote characters represent a single double-quote. As a prefix it also allows keywords to be used as identifiers.
In Java, it is used to denote annotations, a kind of metadata, since version 5.0
In modal logic, specifically when representing possible worlds, @ is sometimes used as a logical symbol to denote the actual world (the world we are 'at').
In Pascal, @ is the "address of" operator (it tells the location at which a variable is found).
In Perl, @ prefixes variables which contain arrays.
In PHP, it is used just before an expression to make the interpreter suppress errors that would be generated from that expression.
In Python 2.4 and up, it is used to decorate a function (wrap the function in another one at creation time).
In Ruby, @ prefixes instance variables, and @@ prefixes class variables.
In Scala, it is used to denote annotations (as in Java), and also to bind names to subpatterns in pattern-matching expressions.
In ML, it denotes list concatenation.
In Clipper, it is used to denote position on the screen. For example: @1,1 SAY "HELLO" to show the word "HELLO" in line 1, row 1.

(#) Pound, Number, or Sharp
This is a pound sign, or number sign, and in programing we call it the sharp symbol.
Used to shorten the word number to a symbol. On the telephone it's known as the Pound sign. In the programing world it's turned in to a Sharp sign also used in music. Usually at an angle.
Know your Symbols.
An ampersand (&) is a logogram representing the conjunction word "and".
The symbol is a ligature of the letters in et, Latin for "and".
Some good news family wise.
My youngest sister is getting married, and is expecting her first child.

Boy oh boy...makes me wonder how they get any real work done if they waste their time with dead end phone calls due to not doing their research first.
