I think I would start to answer that question by first defining the word hurt.



WHEN:



Hurt = to be physically abused. That isn't love.





Hurt = left heartbroken. That wasn't real love to begin with.





I think love is hard, difficult, and complicated.

Love is painful. It is agonizing and sometimes tragic. I think of nothing worse than seeing a person you love in pain and you can do nothing about it.

well my theory is a simple one

if it didn't hurt

you wouldn't care

generally when you don't care

your not investing your emotions

and without emotions

true love can not dwell in the heart

you make a personnel investment into somebody

with the hopes they don't' shatter your dreams

and bring you down

when that does happen

you feel extreme pain

and sometimes

when it happens too many to a person

they go numb and incapable of loving themselves and someone else!



so basically in simple words



If it doesn't hurt ... it isn't love

but it is...how many times have you been in a relationship just to have it end badly and all you wanna do is die, and yet we as humans keep repeating this cycle until eventually we find that one person....but when we do find the right one we can hardly trust them because of past hurt, so that relationship ends bad because of no trust. And thus you wanna die again, leading to a week or so later because of the fear of being lonely you and the person crawl back and try and make something out the shell of a relationship you did have only to die together 50-60yrs later wishing you two had never met in the first damm place.

I agree with Venus here... 'hurt' can be used to describe different types of relationships.



I think it's definately a mix of both... love is sometimes messy and complicated... but that's kind of what makes it so great. The little hardships make the little joys seem bigger and are that much more amazing :)

love in it self is a risk

if goes wrong

it indeed brings about all forms of despair:

such as and not limited to.



mental,spiritual and physical suicide.



but if it goes right

you will have peace.contentment and prosperity and most importantly

a family of your own



it is the foundation of unity

common goals,trust and perspectives are a healthy sign of love

but the most important thing about love and number one thing

that keeps it alive for both people

are loyalty and commitment

without those two traits

no love has any chance of surviving

with that note



maybe the real question is



how long can you hold on to love?

I think it's impossible to have true love with out some pain.I've never know anyone even those in the best relationships that got by without being hurt in some way.

F**k love... It's gotten me nothing but grief.

Love and pain are like bread and butter



No expectations means no dissapointments BUT... who would want to live in a world without expectations? I mean... there has to be some sort of expectations in life so I believe we cannot escape the chance of getting hurt at all... AND... if we cannot escape that chance... then why worry about it?

It's hard to learn to live one day at a time but I am sure that if there is discipline it can be possible :D

The second option, pain is part of life. anybody telling you different is trying to sell you something.



and actually there is nothing wrong with pain..lets you know your alive, that you really cared for that person.



I was recently hurt by a friend, yeah, it sucked. But you have to love like it's not going to hurt
