My kids kick ass! =)

Since it is now officially summer and school is out, it's report card time. For all of us who are parents, it becomes bragging rights time. And I've gotta say- MY KIDS KICK ASS! =) Their report cards are soooo great! All A's with just a few B's thrown in to break up the monotony of perfection.

Woohoo Triple K!

Now I've done it!

Today finds me contemplating the final step I've taken to go back to school in the Fall. (Yay me!) Who knew there was so much to do for a Master's in Library Sciences?!?

I will first, however, be earning my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies while I complete my teaching credential. (Yeah- they're actually going to pay me to corrupt young minds, lol!)

So- right now I have all these little ping pong balls bouncing around in my head with all the stuff I need to accomplish in the next 4-5 years. I figure it's either finish up with school or be stuck in a $12-16 an hour job for the rest of my life. Thanks, but no thanks! =) Scary thing is- I'll be graduating college about the same year my daughter will be graduating high school, yikes!

And if all this isn't enough for me to think about- my boyfriend tells me today that he never really thought about men having biological clocks. Anyone else hear that?

I'm beyond frustrated with my lack of progress with my life. If feels like no matter how hard I try to move forward- there's always something or someone holding me back or waiting for me to fail.

Well- I've had enough! It's my turn to do what I'd like to do.

Wish me luck! =)

Not your normal day...

My grandfather passed away early Wednesday morning. I've known for a while that this time would be coming, and yet it doesn't seem like it's been long enough. I can only imagine what my grandmother, who has spent the past 60+ years with him, is going through. I feel oddly detached, like maybe this isn't happening to me- that I'm just an observer in this scene.

With his passing, there seems to me- to be less time to do the things I'd like. It seems that we spend so much time doing what "has to be done", to truly enjoy the little (or big) things that we dream of doing.

So Grandpa- I know you're watching us from where you are and shaking your head in that way that says "What were you thinking?" Just know that you will be missed. I love you- rest in peace. I'm relatively sure we'll be able to take it from here. =)
